Questions & Answers for Algenist Advanced Anti-Aging Repairing Oil

Question
Does this take the place of a serum or does it go on before or after a serum?

I get best results using it after serum and moisturiser. Some people layer their oils over serum but under moisturiser but i don't know anyone who uses oil under their serum. However you could try it and it may work for your skin.
I like to use serum on the driest parts of my face before using moisturiser all over and then oil as over, even on acne prone areas.

When I was in store, I asked the BA same question. She said you can use it as serum after toner before cream. But since this oil is so intense, I do not think u need anything after it.

The rule of thumb for the order in which to apply skin care products is to begin with the thinnest products first as the skin will absorb those quickest and leave way for the other products that follow to penetrate the stratum corneum. Specifically, start with your serum, as that is probably thinner than your oil, then follow up with oil, and finish off with moisturizer and SPF!

I had the same question and this is what I found on the Algenist website: Warm 2-3 drops between hands and press gently onto cleansed face morning and evening before moisturizing. May be applied on top of your serum or mixed in the palm of your hands with your moisturizer for added hydration. Use only as directed

So far it is not making my skin oily at all - don't use more than is recommended though. I am noticing that my skin is just less dry.

I have combination skin with a very oily t-zone. I usually notice my face getting oily within a few hours after cleansing, however, since I began using this product, I don't have that problem. In my opinion this oil is balancing, and makes my skin incredibly soft.

It doesn't make your skin oily but after using it for a while it doesn't have effect on my skin. I'm almost 40 and I'm thinking to switch to nude oil. Also clarins serum is very good.

O.K., I'm a bit cheap and don't typically go for the expensive designer products - albeit I broke down for the Algenist anti-aging oil ;-). I use CereV moisturizer. You can get it from your local pharmacy. My dermatologist recommended it and I have used it for years. It is pretty inexpensive. I prefer the moisturizer over the cream. They also have a.m. & p.m. but the p.m. is really the same as the general product and the a.m. just has SPF protection.

I don't know for sure yet but the bottle is generous and the amount you use is miniscule hence I expect it should last at least a few months.

I use it once a day and I get about 7-8 month's worth of time with it. I also managed to spill some, so it would probably be more like 9 or 10 if I hadn't done that.

I've been using my 7ml sample bottle twice a day for almost four weeks, and I've gone through less than 3ml. The full-sized bottle I ordered is 30ml, so I'd say at the same rate of usage, it should last 6 months, easily - but probably closer to 10. Keep in mind you only need a tiny amount!

Question
Does it work on under eye?
I am 28 and I am starting to get some under eye wrinkles. I use the eye cream from origins and I like it a lot therefore I really do not want to change it. I am wondering, if I mix the cream with this oil (or just pad a little bit of the oil in the under eye area at night), will it help with the wrinkles? I have tried Algenist eye creams and I do not like them, But I do love this oil.

I use the entire Algenist line. It's not cheap but is definitely worth the price. I have very dry sensitive skin-lines are greatly reduced and skin overall looks healthier and firmer. As with any product, it should be used at least 8 weeks before you can expect to see dramatic results. I am very pleased with this line and recommend it to all of us at a "certain age."

Is this product safe to use during pregnancy since it has Retinyl P in it?

Retinyl palmitate is vitamin A. An extreme excess of vitamin A during pregnancy could certainly be detrimental, but I doubt you'd be getting nearly that much from this product. Probably best to discuss this with your obstetrician though, just to be safe.
