This brush is specifically designed for powder, you won't be able to buff your liquid foundation in to give it that flawless look with this brush. Because it's angular it gives you the advantage of getting around your nose and other hard places with round brushes. Plus, you can pat on your powder to give you a full coverage look.

I use the face II for my liquid foundation. I really like how it goes on. I used to use the liquid foundation brush from urban decay. This Urban decay brush has a similar design (not feel or quality) to it. I would probably recommend the the face I for liquid just because it is thinner and a bit longer. Meaning you can apply the liquid foundation with more ease, and blend as you wish do to the size.

Question
Which MJ brush is best for liquid foundation?
I have read the reviews, but am still a bit confused -- which brush is best for applying liquid foundation to achieve an air brushed look? Also, can someone suggest a less expensive brush that might achieve similar results. I am willing to pay the big bucks if the MJ brush is really worth it -- I just want to order the correct one! Thanks in advance.....

I love this brush for both the Dior Airflash and my other Dior liquid foundations. It's perfect for both because the hair is dense and soft so it provides even coverage but is also good for buffing, which you need for the Airflash foundation. The only other foundation brush that I use that is cheaper but compares is the Sigma Angled Kabuki F84 but the MJ is better.

I strongly recommend it . I have extremely dry skin and tried many different brushes to apply my bourjois serum foundation , and by far this one has been the best. I recommend for you to feel the bristles . It is super dense and extremely soft. Take in consideration it is a long term investment and condition your skin before applying foundation .

not good for pressed powder-the bristles are too dense, relatively short. but for cremes or liquids, it truly is the best.

This is also the powder foundation I use, however, I do not recommend the Face 2 for powder. This brush has synthetic bristles and is better suited for liquid products.

The brush holds liquid foundation very well so I think it'll hold powder pretty good also. I've noticed that after I used it everyday for a week or so that you can't even tell makeup was on the brush, but I do clean it off every 3 weeks or so with constant use of the brush. It's such a fabulous makeup brush and I plan to get the rest of the Marc Jacobs brushes.

I think it will work well with powder foundation because it's dense which will buff and provide even coverage. For finely milled setting powders, you should be okay but I would recommend a softer, powder brush. This brush is better for liquid or Spray foundation (i.e. Dior Airflash) because it's dense so it buffs well but is soft enough to,spread liquid evenly.

This brush is definitely crafted for powder application as well as liquid. It is extremely dense and adequately large, so the application will be fast and it will mimic the airbrushed effect.

if its the powder minerals, the best way is the kabuki brush always. you need the width for the blended circular motion. this brush, the MJ11 brush is for anything cream or liquid. simply amazing.

In my opinion, goat hair brushes are the best for applying minerals. Bare escentuals carries goat hair brushes, but they are scratchy, & the worst!!! Try a kabuki with goat hair for more coverage, Or a fluffy loose powder brush. The sephora pro collection is great, or if you can splurge Dior has an amazing kabuki. Soft enough not to scratch your skin while buffing, but its not too soft, so it will blend the minerals well. Hope this helps.

I don't know how it compares to the Face I brush but it gives my foundation a full coverage look which I like. It probably would work great for cream blushes! I love it so much more than I expected to.

This brush really helps buff liquid foundation into the skin and can create medium to full coverage. This brush is synthetic so it works best with cream and liquid products.
