It works ok. Just feels heavy. Can tend to make clean hair feel dirty. Not sure if it's due to the humidity where I live that product reacts different... Hope this info helps.

Oh, no! It just causes the hair to be weighed down and can feel a little greasy. Our scalps produce natural oils, and applying it to the roots may be overkill:)

answer 3
I personally wouldn't use it on my roots because it would then make my hair look oily (even though product isn't oily) and weight it down I only use on ends to mid-hair. Because my hair looks great after applying Living Proof and straightening it, I can go three-four days without washing it. My scalp naturally produces oil if I go more than two days without washing it; hence not applying it on my scalp.

Question
Is this a good product for helping hair stay straight and without frizz?
I love having straight hair but after I straighten my hair with my CHI straightener, after an hour or so some pieces of my hair start to become wavy and my whole head is frizzy. Is this a good product that will help my hair stay straight? If not, does anyone know any products that do help keep wavy hair straight all day? Thank you.

Yes, it will. I have the same problem. I use very little (I just get my fingertip wet with the serum) on the baby hair on my forehead. Works like magic.

My hair is naturally wavy (to the curly side) and I use my Chi nearly every day. I have used the Living Proof serum for about 6 months - and love it. I also like to combine it with a blow-out/straightening product like Pureology or Alterna, and I do not have any problem with the curl coming back during the day. That being said, i live in a dry climate and when I travel to moister climates, I can't get away from "the curls".

It's not terrible, but have you tried the Chi Silk infusion? It's pretty awesome.

answer 4
I have extremely curly, course hair but wear it straight often. This is part of my straightening routine now :) I wasn't sure if you were saying your hair gets wavy/curly again throughout the day or if it gets frizzy. If its frizz you're fighting I would use this. Of course you put this on while still wet. Then for after hair is dry: use Loreal Professional Mythic Oil (this stuff is amazing) and then Chi Shine Infusion spray (this is a lightweight spray but is awesome at fighting frizz). If your trying to fight waves/curls coming back it depends what the issue is. Is it humidity? Or it could be your flat-iron. Make sure that its hot enough and that it distributes heat evenly. I had a chi and after a yr or so I noticed my hair wasn't looking as straight after flat-ironing. Come to find out the flat-iron was crapping out (and this is very common with Chi's). If your flat-iron is hot enough and doing what it's supposed to do. Try a keratin treatment. Bio Ionic Agave Oil Smoothing Trmt. I live in Michigan and earlier in the summer I couldn't get my hair to cooperate at all. So I got this trmt done and I can get it to do whatever I need to. I sat at the beach all day (very humid) came home and changed my outfit and went out for the night. I didnt have to run a flat-iron through it or anything. Pre-trmt I would have had to flat-iron the whole thing all over after sitting at the beach. Hope this helps :)

I didn't have any luck with the Satin Hair Serum either. It weighed my hair down and left my hair wavy and frizzy, too. Living Proof has a new product, PHD (Perfect Hair Day) that I do recommend. It leaves my hair soft, shiny, straight and frizz-free. It's the only product I used on my hair after shampooing and conditioning, and it so far is the only product I need.

I do as well. I would suggest something a little thicker for naturally curly hair if it's thick like mine. A Moroccan oil or bio silk is my go to! I tried, but it wasn't worth it.

I have naturally curly & course hair. When I wear my hair curly I also let it air dry. I use this typically when I'm wearing my hair straight (flat-ironed). However, I have used it on curly too. I still have to use light-weight gel with it. This stuff will make your hair extremely soft. So if I use to much it tends to make my curls to soft and not hold the curl which ends up making them a little more frizzy. But I think this stuff is amazing and you should try it :)

Question
Does anyone know how this compares to Living Proof styling cream?
I have wavy, frizzy hair and can't stand the thought of using a hair dryer during the summer months. The styling cream they offer does a fairly decent job of keeping my strands somewhat tamed, but am wondering if this would be even better?

No, let your hair dry a bit in a towel then apply it just before blow drying. It's all I used and I usually use at least 2 products. Simply a little hair spray after it was done.

The only thing that can ruin a keratin treatment is a product formulated with sulfates, particularly shampoo. Living Proof products don't contain sulfates so they're perfect for keratin treatments.

It is probably OK to use, but would recommend using products associated with your keratin treatment. I have a brazilian blowout and the products like their dry oil is a lot better than this living proof product which makes hair greasy.

I just called the company and they said their hair serum -- and all their products -- were ok to use on Keratin treated hair. I also found this post that says the same http://main.stylelist.com/2010/09/02/keratin-treatment-approved-hair-products/ I still am nervous though since keratin treatments cost so much and I don't want to mess it up.

I was told by a sephora employee before i bought mines that it could be applied to both wet and dry hair; it's best if you use it before heat protectants AND using heat products such as blow dryers and straighteners. I've done it like that and it has always worked for me.
