Hello! I'm 23 and I use this serum. I find that it has helped with tightening my pores, firming skin on my cheeks and forehead (I'm plus size and I don't sleep much), and it made my skin sooo soft. It even helped with blemishes I still get every now and then. If it's bad for younger skin, I certainly don't see any evidence of that in my case. Just use very little and only about every other day. Once a day every other day worked miracles for my skin. If you want to try it, just pay special attention to your skin to see if it has any reactions and be sure to discontinue use as soon as you see anything concerning (no matter how slight).

Of course - you can use this serum at any age! I gave a bottle to my daughter (22) to try, as the retinol is perfect for keeping acne at bay - and she loves it, her skin is much clearer, softer, and has far less breakouts. Retinol is good at any age.

Of course you can. This is a type of product to improve or prevent skin aging. My dermatologist recommended for my allergy/rosacea (very mild) to prevent early skin aging. I love this product and helps even my combination skin and my moisturizer works even better now.

i would doubt that you need it. i think at 35 is when the skin begins to age. otherwise with the usual moisurizer you're probably fine without this.

I used it on my eyelids and had absolutely NO adverse effects. But it completely depends on YOUR skin and sensitivity to the ingredients in the serum. I mostly stay on my cheeks, neck, and forehead. But enjoy the product. IT'S AMAZING!

Use it at both times! I would use it only once a day as a rule. But there were days when I was feeling particularly icky that I would use it in the morning as always, but then I would use it at the end of the day after removing my makeup and washing my face. When I'd follow it up with Clinique's Moisture Surge, I'd get AMAZING results. You can find the Clinique Moisture Surge HERE! http://www.sephora.com/moisture-surge-extended-thirst-relief-P209117?skuId=1084805&icid2=D=c6:products%20grid:p209117

We recommend using retinol products at night. Also make sure to SPF protection during the day, as retinol increases sensitivity to the sun.

It's all up to you! There were days when I felt super puffy or loose and I'd use it once in the morning before putting on my makeup and once after I took off my makeup and washed my face, but before moisturizing. I would alternate between once and twice a day. I think I once used it 3 times cause I was just feeling super icky, but I wouldn't advise doing that often at all. I like following this serum up with the Clinique Moisture Surge. AMAZING results! I use this morning and night, and I have VERY sensitive skin. In the evening I apply it, then use Sephora moisturizer-no sticky feeling and no stains on your good pillowcases. I use it in the morning and follow with the Algenist SPF 50 sunblock-no problems and my skin looks great!

This product is gentle enough to use 2x's a day (morning and night). I use it 2x's a day and have been very happy with the results. For the daytime I would only purchase a moisturizer with sunscreen to apply after the Algenist RF&L. I hope you like this product as much as I do.

The 10 day sample, which was enough to use both morning and night, was a little less than 1/3 of the bottle, so that works out to about 35 days in the bottle, I think. I did the math because I think it's expensive!

It goes a long way. A small dime size dab in the palm of the hand and then applied evenly to the face. Actually you could just apply to areas you have issues with, but I use on the entire face and throat with the small amount mentioned.

I've had mine since May and it hasn't run out yet. I put on at least one pump everyday, sometimes I'll apply it again if I've washed my face and am redoing my makeup. I feel like it will need to be replaced soon, as it has lasted a very long time.

Question
Does the Algenist Retinol Firming & Lifting Serum also help with blemishes and acne?
Does the Algenist Retinol Firming & Lifting Serum also help with blemishes and acne?

I went to Sephora and a really nice worker gave me some samples for the Algenist Retinol Firming & Lifting Serum saying that it helps with everything. This is only the second night I've used it and I have seen slight changes so I decided to research a bit more. I noticed most of the women who have bought this product are over 25; I was wondering if it is not recommended for a girl like me (23 years old) to use this product. I have been breaking out a lot and my acne has been leaving really noticeable scars and blemishes and I freaked out. I don't want to jump the gun though and already start using an anti-aging serum when I'm only 23.

I'm 31 and have struggled with mild acne, clogged pores and blackheads since my early teens. I started using this product in the mornings, combined with a glycolic treatment and retinol night cream in the evenings and my skin is in the best condition it's ever been! I've been using it for 4 weeks and so far, Retinol is the only thing I've tried that has been able to clear the stubborn clogged pores on my cheeks and help prevent the monthly hormonal flare ups on my chin and jawline. It's also faded old acne scars and completely evened out my skin tone. If you have the cash, give it a go! I only wish I'd known about the power of reitnol when I was your age!

I noticed that on day 4 of the 10 day trial samples that the pores on my nose already looked smaller. I purchased the small size of the serum to try it for 60 days. I have oily skin and large pores. I have struggled with acne all my life.

I love it and I do not know why you would not be able to use it as a young woman. I wish there had been products this good for me when I was your age.

Use quality products and stay out of the sun!

Not sure where you read that you were supposed to wash this off, but the algenist retinol lifting serum is meant to be left on the skin. It absorbs quickly and if you have dry skin (which I do) you can add a moisturizer on top.

Oh no! Do not wash your face after applying this product. Use it in the morning and at night AFTER washing your face. Apply a moisturizer on top of it and use a SPF moisturizer during the day as your skin will be sensitive to the sun after using this product. It is a great product and I hope you like it.

One small/deluxe sample of this product lasted me over a month. You don't have to use much. A little goes a VERY long way with this product. I would say the 1 oz size would last you about 6-8 months depending on how much you use. I think it's very much worth it.
