If you want dry, frizzy hair it will. In my experience (I have thick, wavy/curly hair) it ended up giving me HUGE hair. No texture, just .... HUGE.

YES! I have a weird combo of wavy in some parts and straight in other parts. I used this, and now its an even amount of wave all around. I have thick coarse hair too.

Yea. I just spray some surf / salt water spray (whatever brand you choose), dry it, then use a flat iron to put in some waves, spray a little more of the surf spray in! Works like magic. This shampoo I find makes my hair style/ curl nicer.

This is my exact hair type and it made my hair very very knotty. I never have problems with knots as I take very good care of my hair, but after using this product, I couldn't even get a brush or comb through ripping the knots apart wiht my fingers first. I recomend the Seaweed Shampoo and Conditioner instead; it's the best!

It will, but I would suggest using it with the matching Surf conditioner and Surf Spray. My hair is thick and straight too and I found that I need to really blitz my hair with these products to get any results.

I have super thick hair that's wavy/straight depending on how it dries, and this shampoo doesn't really make my hair have beach waves but it does really texturize it so that I can but waves in and theywill stay. if used with the beach wave conditioner and spray, it works well

Nope, this is supposed to "imitate" the effects of the beach on your hair. It texturizes. You're better off with a hydrating shampoo for time at the beach.

No! If anything this would be bad for your hair post beach vacation. I would suggest during and post vacation using something very moisturizing and hydrating

This shampoo adds texture, just as you would if took a dip in the ocean. I wouldn't recommend this for removing impurities for your hair.

To protect from salt I would put conditioner in before you go out into the surf and salt. This shampoo cleans well but does contain some salt to help absorb sweat. I would reccomend a product that contains maybe some Vitamin C it is good at breaking the salt and chlorine molecules that bind to your hair. In the Bumble and Bumble line think Sunday Shampoo or the Color Protector series.

No, its not a purifying shampoo. It has saltwater in it. You would want the Sunday shampoo. It detoxes hair and removes minerals.

Yes, I called the salon in NYC.... It's also gentle enough for everyday use, as its summer and I'm swimming and surfing and now washing my hair more often then in winter.
