Question
is the tanner to dark?
I have really fair skin and some of the self tanners i have used in the past have made my face look way to dark and unnatural

I'm fair skinned as well. It didn't make me look orange or anything. I only used a very small amount when applying and it gave me a natural glow. I would recommend only applying every 2-3 days because it does work very fast.

I have rather fair skin and find the color is very natural. Not orange or too brown, just a healthy sun-kissed look.

This particular line of tanners provides a very subtle color. Naturally I'm extremely pale (to the point where I cannot find any foundation to match my natural skin tone. The lightest shade is always too dark on me).

As long as you blend, this line provides a hint of color without looking too garish. You won't look super tan, but will have a healthy glow.

it depends what type are you, for very light skin everything will be to dark, it looks like sun kissed, if you want darker you can always apply another coat, but its nicely melting into your skin and I wasn't able( ever) do too dark

It does come out a bit unnatural the first day. However I'd still recommend you buying it. I have fair skin and what I do is I mix it with some of my daily moisturizer and that gives me a less dramatic result. It does made acne scares blend in nicely and evens out skin tone. I dont even use foundation anymore. If you're unsure I suggest you to try it beginning of the weekend or when you don't have to show yourself juuuust in case you're not happy with the result! It does fade every day and looks more and more natural though.

Does this product smell?
I know a lot of self tanners have a weird kind of scent and was wondering if this product had that same tanner smell.

I'd say that it has no smell at all. Not any perfume or chemical odor like other tanners I've used.

It has only a very slight odor. Normally I am bothered by self tanner odors as well, and this one did not bother me at all. Hardly noticeable.

There is a TEENY bit of smell when you initially apply it but you don't smell afterwards. I apply my regular moisturizer over it and that's the only thing I smell afterwards.

I've found it to apply more evenly than any other tanner I've used. No work at all to get a very natural, over-all glow.

answer 2
Very easy to get an even coverage. The product is the perfect balance - not thick and sticky, not runny. Also, it is tinted so you see where you apply it. I hesitated to buy a self tanner as they usually disappoint, but this winter has been harsh, I needed some color, so I caved. I was very impressed.

It's such a gradual tanner, i don't think you have to worry about that. And the bronzer part does go in evenly.

Yes - I apply right after washing and scrubbing my face BEFORE applying my moisturizer and it's fine. If you have super dry skin though it might not go on as evenly.

Can I use this under my makeup?
I mean without waiting a few hours and washing it off. Can I just put some on right before my makeup and head out the door or would that make my face look muddy?

Yes, I wait a few minutes for the product to absorb but then I apply powder/blush on top of it with great results. The tan develops over the next few hours.

Yes, but make sure that your makeup matches your new color - it does have a bit of a color right away.

answer 3
This stuff sets/absorbes quicker than any face tanner I've ever used, but I still think if you used a powder over it, it would not be smooth and would be spotty, because you are putting dry over a tacky feel. If you were using a foundation over it, then I think it would work fine if you blend it well.

I've been using this product for two weeks and use my Clarosonic nightly. Since it's gradual, I can't say that the Clarosonic takes it off, but I would apply hours after using the Clarosonic or at night before using it!

Yes, unfortunately it will. You will need to reapply after washing your face, especially if exfoliating or using the Clarisonic.

I prefer to use moisturizer before - it helps the tanner go on smoothly and possibly dilutes it a teeny bit so you don't have a dramatic effect right away.

It gives a nice brown color, so you may need to get a new foundation color. I would not use it under moisturizer, as it needs time to set and develop on the skin. It does dry right away, but if you add moisturizer too soon on top you will just re-wet it and create thin spots or streaks in the tanner. I use it on clean skin before bed 1-2 times per week, in the morning it has developed and you can then use serum, moisturizer, etc. The color seems to last well by only applying 1-2x per week.

Moisturiser/serum/face oil before (but use less than usual because this tanner is a moisturising product) then eye cream after so you don't rub it into your face. But don't but the tanner around your eye area. Hope this helps

No. This is a TANNER, not a bronzer. If you want a bronzing color over your foundation, you need to purchase a bronzing power in the cosmetics section. This is a self tanner for your skin, not for your makeup.

I also use med-beige foundation but found this tanner gave a nice brown tan so my foundation no longer matched. I would not use it under moisturizer, as it needs time to set and develop on the skin. It does dry right away, but if you add moisturizer too soon on top you will just re-wet it and create thin spots or streaks in the tanner.

You may want to go lighter with your foundation or just use some translucent powder as your skin will have a nice even bronze glow to it. I find I need less foundation when I use this. It's very natural-looking.
