Question
will this product work on dry skin?
I noticed the words "and controls oil" after purchasing. I do not have oily skin. Will this product work on dry skin? All the other benefits are exactly what I need.

My skin changes from normal to dry during the winter. I bought this a few days ago and love it so far. It works fine on my dry skin, but I do put on my regular moisturizer first.

I have dehydrated and dry skin, and it works on me. When I am feeling a little more dry, I add a couple drops of Tsubaki oil, and it gives me that extra radiance boost when I need it.

I am a loyal Smashbox customer. Does this product contain silicones? I am allergic to them. Does Smashbox offer a silicone-free primer?

... and a few days after I posted my previous answer, Smashbox's new "Primer Water" spray appeared in the "Just Arrived" section. So, yes, they do now have a silicone-free primer.

answer 2
Yes, this does contain silicone. The most common silicones in cosmetics are cyclopentasiloxane, cyclohexasiloxane, dimethicone and phenyl trimethicone. Since dimethicone is one of the first ingredients listed, this is certainly a silicone-based product. I checked a few ingredient lists and I may be wrong (since I didn't check them all) but I'm pretty sure Smashbox does not make a silicone-free primer. The best bet to find one is to ask for ingredients lists and look for the aforementioned words, or anything with the suffixes "-siloxane," "-cone" or "-conol."
(*side note: Silica is not a silicone. It is actually a natural product, whereas silicone is man-made. It is best known as "sand" but is also found naturally occurring in the human body).

Hi!
This product acts not only as a dark spot corrector, but also has the coverage of a medium foundation.
I suffer from moderate/severe redness in my cheeks, and I would say that this covers about 85% of redness with ease.
For full coverage, I would recommend using a foundation over the areas of redness, if the cc cream alone does not deliver enough.

Good Luck!

I have slight redness on my cheeks and this covered it pretty well. I noticed a slight yellow shade in Light/Medium (which I used) but nothing so drastic I couldn't blend it in

It will reduce redness somewhat, but not completely take it away... this product doesn't offer a ton of coverage, but it does ok under a medium coverage foundation. If you're trying to cover redness from acne or rosacea, a color correcting primer (green fixes red) will do a much better job.

I found that this neutralized my redness in my nose area and under my eyes but overall this cream is pretty sheer and doesn't provide much coverage. So I guess it depends on how red your skin is, and probably why (not sure this would cover acne very well, for example).

If you have dark spots from acne, then the CC cream will probably be better as it fades dark spots.

Hello! I personally went with the CC cream just to help correct. It still has a very high SPF in it. One thing to consider though is that a BB cream will probably be more moisturizing...with a CC cream I need moisturizer under it.

Hope that helps!

It's also a bit less drying/dry than the BB. I returned the BB for the CC and do not regret it at all.

I'm 50+ dry-ish skin and use fair.

I'm almost positive it would. What I do is carry with me some face powder and if I feel my T zone is getting a little bit greasy I apply some on. I'm happy with this product natural coverage and the fact that my skin never breakout.

When I'm taking my time, I use my beautyblender and I really like the application. When I'm in a rush or don't feel like cleaning the blender, I use my fingers, and that works just as well. I tried it with a foundation brush and I hated it - it looked streaky.

I like to apply it with my fingers. Its a really light consistency and if you use a brush, the brush will just soak up all of the product. Plus, if you want better coverage fingers are like magic. Make sure to wash your hands before though
