Questions & Answers for Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Dark Spot Correcting

Question
will this product work on dry skin?
I noticed the words "and controls oil" after purchasing. I do not have oily skin. Will this product work on dry skin? All the other benefits are exactly what I need.
Your advice is appreciated.

My skin changes from normal to dry during the winter. I bought this a few days ago and love it so far. It works fine on my dry skin, but I do put on my regular moisturizer first.

I have dehydrated and dry skin, and it works on me. When I am feeling a little more dry, I add a couple drops of Tsubaki oil, and it gives me that extra radiance boost when I need it.

The product is very moisturizing and goes on dry skin very smoothly. Warm it up on the back of your hand before you apply it and it will glide on like silk! Hope this helps :)

Will this cover redness?

Hi!
This product acts not only as a dark spot corrector, but also has the coverage of a medium foundation.
I suffer from moderate/severe redness in my cheeks, and I would say that this covers about 85% of redness with ease.
For full coverage, I would recommend using a foundation over the areas of redness, if the cc cream alone does not deliver enough.

Good Luck!

I have slight redness on my cheeks and this covered it pretty well. I noticed a slight yellow shade in Light/Medium (which I used) but nothing so drastic I couldn't blend it in

It will reduce redness somewhat, but not completely take it away... this product doesn't offer a ton of coverage, but it does ok under a medium coverage foundation. If you're trying to cover redness from acne or rosacea, a color correcting primer (green fixes red) will do a much better job.

I found that this neutralized my redness in my nose area and under my eyes but overall this cream is pretty sheer and doesn't provide much coverage. So I guess it depends on how red your skin is, and probably why (not sure this would cover acne very well, for example).

Question
non-acnegenic?
Is this product also non-acengenic? I love the reassurance that is provided on the normal smashbox bb cream but this says nothing of the sort.

I also have oily skin that breaks out at the slightest provocation and the CC cream has never made me break out. Quite the contrary - my skin quality has been better since I've started wearing it.

I'm almost positive it would. What I do is carry with me some face powder and if I feel my T zone is getting a little bit greasy I apply some on. I'm happy with this product natural coverage and the fact that my skin never breakout.

Yes. I have acne-prone skin, and I was told that it controls oil and helps acne scars fade. I used this for a few weeks already and I didn't break out.

I have some acne marks and it helps reduce visibility. It is not a miracle worker since you can only change that with a good cleaning/moisturizing routine. But i do recommend it, i have combination / sensitive skin and it has been great so far.

It's also a bit less drying/dry than the BB. I returned the BB for the CC and do not regret it at all.

I'm 50+ dry-ish skin and use fair.

Hi Walala. The main difference is that the CC cream is to help even out skin tone and minimize dark spots!

When I'm taking my time, I use my beautyblender and I really like the application. When I'm in a rush or don't feel like cleaning the blender, I use my fingers, and that works just as well. I tried it with a foundation brush and I hated it - it looked streaky.

I like to apply it with my fingers. Its a really light consistency and if you use a brush, the brush will just soak up all of the product. Plus, if you want better coverage fingers are like magic. Make sure to wash your hands before though

I have acne-prone skin (even though I am middle aged!) and I use a lightweight moisturizer under this CC cream. I moisturize, let it absorb, and then apply the CC cream. I have not had any problems with breakouts using this product.

I think that more depends on where you get dry. If youre a classic t-zone oily/cheeks dry combo skin like I am, I would try with a light layer of an oil-free moisturizer underneath (Kate Somerville oil-free is a good one). I think this CC cream (one of my favorites) goes on better and looks fresher once applied that way. Also, I get a little nervous about any color make-up product (foundation, tinted moisturizer, CC cream, etc.) going onto my bare skin and getting in my pores. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much! Silica is fine actually; not a silicone. Unfortunately, Dimethicone and Phenyl Trimethicone are silicones. Boo hoo. I'll keep looking for silicone-free products.
