Questions & Answers for Dr. Brandt Skincare BB Matte With Signature Shinerase™

Question
Coverage?
What's the coverage like for this bb cream? I have extremely oily skin, but a bunch of acne scars and am looking for a bb cream that's matte (or satin) but also cover/repair.

Goes on light and provided me with GREAT coverage. I have both acne scars and pock marks (2 rounds of chicken pocks as a kid) and I was happy with the coverage. Covered in a way that was not cake-like.

It covers flaws really well without making you look like you're wearing a pound of caked-on foundation. I use the "Pores no More" from Dr. Brandt with this (sometimes even without it--it's FABULOUS). It's supremely light weight and minimizes my scars. I recommend using them together.

I got a sample of this and really liked it. However, for the summer weather where I'm at, it felt a little too thick for me. I thought the coverage was decent. I've been using the tarte BB cream which is really light coverage and the Dr. Brandt provided quite a bit more. To help with the application I put a thin layer of moisturizer on underneath and it stayed put all day in 95 degree weather. I have a couple of small blemishes on my chin and didn't notice them after I put this on...no concealer used either!

The coverage of this stuff is thin to non-existent for oily skin. Even layering doesn't give a decent amount of coverage. It also doesn't leave an awesomely matte finish. I still ended up with a dewy finish after extremely careful application and translucent powder.

I have a deluxe sample of this and I loved it. It didn't sit in my pores and provided a decent amount of coverage. On days when I don't want to put on a 'full' face of makeup, this coverage is just right. Add concealer where you need it, some finishing powder, and you're good to go! (I applied with a foundation brush).

coverage is really good I have some acne scars as well and it really smooths my skin out and covers blemishes, without making you feel cakey.

I still have to use a concealer with this to cover my acne scars. The woman at Sephora said this could be used as or under foundation. I feel like this plus foundation would be too much though.

It doesn't have coverage at all. You can wear it under other makeup to help shine but don't buy it as a replacement foundation !

Question
does it make you break out?
I know the description claims it's made for sensitve or acne-prone skin, but I've noticed since using this product I have been breaking out a lot! and not just small litte pimples but big painful ones. I don't know if this product is to blame or other factors.

I have SUPER sensitive skin. I noticed if I used too much I broke out, but as long as I only used a minimum I had no issues.

answer 2
I have been using this now for almost 2 weeks and I haven't broken out from it at all. I have VERY sensitive, acne-prone skin. If you are breaking out, I doubt it's from this. I don't know if this will help you but, did you know that a lot of what causes us acne-prone girls to break out is because of something in our diets? Items with soy, meat, eggs and even dairy that isn't "hormone-free" will play havoc with your skin. Also, try not to rest your head/ face on your hands throughout the day. Hope this helps!

I've never broken out using this. If anything, it makes my skin feel a lot cleaner.

I have not noticed that it has made me break out at all and my skin tends to be sensitive to that.

Question
Color comparison?
Can anyone comment on the color? The light/medium color makes me a touch nervous. I am NC15/20 with slightly olive skin. Dr. Jart is quite wearable for me if a touch pink; the Clinique BB in light was too light and far too pink; the Estee Lauder BB in light is dead perfect. Would this be too dark and too pink?

I have olive skin as well and i think the light/medium color is perfect for my skin even with a slight tan on my face. I was to afraid of trying the med/dark in fear it would be way too dark.

I use Light/Med and I am med/olive(oily skin)and it is a little light for me. BUT, I warm it up with Bare Minerals Matte in Golden Med. I got a sample before I read it had pink undertones, it would have scared me, but surprisingly enough it did not show up on my skin that way. Give it a try, I love the product, it has much more of oil control than Smashbox bb cream light/med. Both are great, but for the summer, I will opt to use Dr.Brandt. Hope this helps.
