Questions & Answers for Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel Cream

Question
Does it smell like roses or not?
I'm confused. The product description certainly implies that there is a "mood-enhancing" fragrance. One reviewer says it smells lovely, like a rose garden. But then another says it has "no fragrance at all" and someone else claims it "has a lovely fresh aroma. No noticeable rose smell." What?

I know tastes differ, but simply whether the gel smells like roses or not shouldn't be that debatable, in my opinion. And unfortunately I can't get to a Sephora to test it myself before buying.

I LOVE the smell of roses, and the (alleged?) rose fragrance of this product is the *only* reason I'm interested in it. I'm not in the market for a new moisturizer, but if this stuff truly delivers a fragrant sensory experience on top of performing well, I'm in.

So, seriously, does it smell like roses or not? Scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being "not a bit" and 10 being "it's like putting Roses de Chloé or Stella McCartney Stella on your face". (Which I wish I could do.)

And by the way, if anyone can recommend other rosy-fragranced products, I'd be very much obliged, thank you!

It's about a 4-5 on the rose scale. It's more delicate, like rosewater, and also has cucumber and other scents. I like it.

Using your scale, I'd give this product a 3. Rose is one of the discernible notes in the cream's fragrance, but I think the floral rose is more of a high note against a stronger base of cucumber or aloe. I find the fragrance very pleasant, but not completely 100% "rosy."

If you really like the scent of natural rosewater, try the Fresh rose toner. It does not have the cucumber/aloe base, just a mild but pure rose scent.

The brand Aerin (available at Sephora) has a rose line that includes lip gloss, facial oil, body wash, and hand cream.

It does smell like roses. On a scale of one to ten, I'd say it's fairly mild and the smell dissipates quickly after application, so I'd give it a 4. If you want a stronger rose smell, then I'd check out Jurlique. They have some awesome rose smelling products. I especially like their rosewater balancing mist.

To be honest, I don't even smell it when I apply it. So I would say that the smell is not very strong at all.

It has a light rose scent. Not as strong as a Stella McCartney perfume. It fades away after you put your make up on top of it.

This doesn't really have a scent to it. If anything I would say you notice very faint floral accents, but nothing dramatic.

It has both ingredients so you're probably smelling more of one than the other. Some people think it smells more rosy.

When I use this product, I smell rose very slightly and cucumber or aloe more strongly. It is possible that you smell cucumber when you use the product. This is normal. :)

I think this product would be good for sensitive skin. My skin is "slightly sensitive" with dryness and redness, but no breakouts from products and ingredients.

This gel cream really improves the moisture barrier of skin, reduces dryness, and smooths flakiness and texture. Rose is very soothing to redness and irritation.

I've tried both and would recommend the rose gel. It's lighter and seems to have some healing/anti-inflammatory properties that help with acne. I like the lotus moisturizer, too, but it is heavier and would be more likely to cause a breakout.

Question
For what age group is the Fresh line devised?
I am 69 with oily mature skin and the accompanying lines and wrinkles. I have been using Exuviance products lately but received a sample of this gel cream and have been using it under my eyes and I really like it for all over my face. My concern is whether the Fresh products are created for aging, saggy skin?

answer 2
This particular Rose Hydration line is not specifically made for mature skin. This line is more geared toward dry skin on people of all ages. Properly hydrating the skin will make it feel more plump and make some light wrinkles less noticeable.

Fresh does make a couple of different product lines geared toward mature skin. The Lotus Youth Preserve line is for anti-aging, and the Peony Brightening line is for counteracting hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
