What I do is mist my hair on the 2nd day with distilled water then apply one pump of the foam into my ends-- perks them right up-- I'll then either diffuse them dry again or wait for them to air dry then scrunch out the cast. :)

My hair is rather dry and fine, so I only wash it every second day. I just run a comb through my wavy hair and apply a little more product-it actually looks better the second day!
I would not use this on a second day. For second day, I'd use Mist-er Right to revitalize the curls. Try spraying with Mist-er Right. Then get your hands wet under the faucet and re-scrunch at your curls just to get them a little damp. Follow with the Set-it-Free product and use your still-damp hands to smooth down a bit of the frizz. If it's wet enough, I'd complete with a little more gel. Having used Devcurl products for years now, I've come to see gel as nothing more than a barrier while the hair dries. Once you break open that barrier, your curls aren't crunchy.
