Difference between light and regular double wear?
What is the difference between double wear light and regular double wear?

From what I was told at an Estée Lauder Counter...the light version is light to medium coverage and the regular version is medium to full. I have both. For everyday, I use the light version and if I need my makeup to go from day to night, I use the regular one. HTH!

Light is supposed to be a lighter version of the regular. I use both regular and light and love both. They have the same staying power. I don't feel one is heavier than the other. I do feel that the color I got in light (Intensity 2.0) matches me better than my Desert Beige but I still work with my regular DW.

The Double Wear Light still offers amazing coverage, but takes away the heavy feel of the original Double Wear. Perfect for combination skin and long lasting!

It is less coverage than regular double wear, but still really good coverage. Feels and looks lighter and more natural

The light has a lighter coverage; you don't feel like you are putting paint on your face. It goes on smoother, has *slightly* less coverage, a better smell, and lasts equally as long esp when set with the matte powder.

Well this is much lighter than the regular double wear. I broke out with the regular one because it was super heavy and thick on my face. This lighter version hasn't broken me out once. It's smooth and airy. It really is a lighter version of the regular one. Chances are if you didn't like the regular double wear, try this lighter version of it because you'll LOVE IT HANDS DOWN!

Dwl is lighter in texture(natural finish, light to medium coverage) also you can swim with it, it wont rub off. Dw is medium to full coverage, semi-matte finish. Both have spf 10.

Does Intensity 2.0 has pink undertones?
I'm looking more for a neutral beige. Thank you!

I think that DWL is neutral. I use desert beige in regular DW (2N1) and intensity 2.0 works great! I believe that if you use ELDW, the Intensity for the ELDWL would correspond to the first number in your shade color.

No, I would say all shades are neutral. If you're looking for undertone options, you should try the original Double Wear. If you think the original Double Wear is too thick, you can thin it down with moisturizer to the consistency of the Double Wear Light!

It does not have SPF (which is why I specifically chose it).

Whether you need moisturizer depends on your skin type. I tend to get a be a little dry so I either apply moisturizer, spf if I'm going to be outside, or a primer and this makeup sits very well on top.

You could use either a moisturizer or a primer, though it doesn't need either!
It's soft and liquid. I have dry skin with oily T-zone, so I use it with a little moisturizer, but you can perfectly use it own it's. It applies like a dream. You don't even need brushes/ sponges in case you are in a hurry!

I use a moisturizer with sunscreen in it first as this is a pretty dry product and I like a smooth base.. I also want to place the product for visible effect -- but I want sunscreen all over, so that is another reason for the double sunscreen.

answer 4
No spf in this product; you will have to get a primer that has SPF in it, or better yet a powder. Laura Mercier and NARS have great primers with SPF 30. Don't be deterred by lack of SPF; coverage is stunning.

Question
Color and comparison help
First question: if I wear MUFE in 130, what would be a good color match?
Second question: how does this compare to MUFE Mat Velvet?
I have medium skin (Color IQ gizmo says I have pink undertones, while a Sephora girl told me I have yellow), that is oily/dry combo (dry on laugh lines, shiny everywhere else). I don't want to look cakey, but I'm tired of being a greaseball within an hour of applying makeup. Help!

I have a skin type similar to yours, and this is the perfect foundation for me. It's light, doesn't look cakey, stays put, and almost feels like a moisturizer.

We recommend trying this foundation in the shade Intensity 2.0. This foundation is very lightweight, while still providing medium coverage to the skin. The Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup has less coverage than Make Up For Ever's Mat Velvet Foundation and has a slightly more natural finish to it.

Question
FAIR SKIN?
SO i am pretty fair skinned and the lightest shade, .5 at least online doesnt really look that light, but ive seen a lot of reviews by people with fair skin saying they liked it so it is actually light enough for pretty fair skin or is it still darker? (For reference im the shade ivory in tartes 12 hour foundation)

I'm fair as well. Often the lightest shade is still oddly too yellow/dark. This foundation is quite sheer - think tinted moisturizer. The shade blends and was not too dark for my very fair skin-tone.

.5 shade is absolutely a great match for pale to fair skin. I consider myself to be quite pale but this was too pale for me. I'm more fair to light, after all. lol This shade also has a yellow undertone. It is not pinky or orangey whatsoever.

I have light to fair skin with yellow undertones. Some redness in my cheeks. I was computer color matched to .05 and it was a bit too light and when I put the 1.0 on one side and the .05 on the other, there wasn't a huge difference. The clerk in the store decided the .05 looked a bit more yellow on me, so I took the 1.0. They are very close in color, at least on me. I wear Cashmere in Becca and Light in the Smashbox CC cream for reference.

i wouldn't recommend this for sensitive skin or for someone who has any dry patches as once this sets (and you don't need powder), it stays on. It can pick up and enhance dry bits.

Question
Is Estée Lauder Double Wear Light-In-Place Makeup Sweat Proof ?
1. Details say it withstands humidity. Very nice! But what about sweating through your pores? I sweat A LOT. Does it stay in place when sweating? Does any of the makeup on your neck get on the collars of shirts when sweating?

2. Does it rub off on your clothes even when it has already dried, and you're not even sweating? For example, does the foundation on neck get on collars of shirts? Or when changing shirts does it get on them as they brush past your face?

3. If it ever did get on your clothes or towels, did it come out easily in the washing machine with basic detergent (Tide, Cheer, etc)? Or is it difficult to remove?

Thank you :)

I love this foundation, but I really have trouble getting any stains out of my clothes. If I don't treat the clothes right away, it doesn't come out unless they have been in the washer a few times.

I really like the light formula particulary in the warmer months. I haven't noticed it transferring to clothing etc, I set it with translucent powder very lightly and it is good to go for the whole day

Question
Which shade?
I am Porcelain in Bobbi Brown stick foundation and Shell in Hourglass Illusion Skin Tint. I'm fair (obviously) with some rosacea and couperose skin. I was told at Sephora to stick with neutrals to tone down the pink in my skin. The .5 looks yellow on my monitor and the 1.0 looks too pink. Help!!

I wear Porcelain in Bobbi Brown, and I use .5 in the Double Wear Light. It actually leans, in person, more peach, if anything, in color tone. I am a neutral gal, and I find this doesn't make me look overly orange-y. I like it a lot and use it as my every day foundation.

If you wear Bobbi Brown Porcelain then regardless of tone 1.0 will be too dark I assure you, I have used both and 1.0 is significantly darker the BB Porcelain. I would try the .5
