No, it is not very moisturizing, it feels like a light foundation and when you layer it it feels like sunscreen, much similar to teh blue bottel one 50 spf for the face.

It has a chemical and physical SPF which can be irritating to a sensitive skin so I would go with one that only has physical SPF such as Zinc Oxide which is a great option for your skin type.

Question
Because I am medium yellow undertoned Asian, I want to know the undertone of this BB: is it pink or yellow undertone?
I find this product quite interesting but because I cannot find much review and swatches of it, I wonder if it's suitable to my skin tone which is medium yellow undertone.

I'm Asian as well and I'm very fair. I wear shade 1, but all the shades in the range are yellow-based and very forgiving. It's very blenable and works great as a sun protectant AND as a tinted product.

I'm a NC25-30 too and I got number 2. The cream is so sheer though, I don't know that any of the colors wouldn't be ok since there's really no coverage.

I'd get shade 2. The shades are quite forgiving and can be blended out. I'm about an NC15 and I chose shade 1.

The colors aren't as accurate on the picture as you'd think! I'm very pale, but for summer I needed the middle tone, which looks deceptively dark. However, it blends so well and so completely that there is no need to worry too much. This is a fantastic product. If you can go test it at a Sephora, I suggest doing that, but if not, id go with the darker shade for summer if you are stuck on that. I love this stuff, it's more of a BB Cream than a tinted moisturizer.

Question
Is this a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream?
I LOVE shiseido and was hoping they would put out a BB cream, is this it? I'm confused! it's thick, I'm not sure how to use it! normally I use moisturizer, primer, then Missha (a Korean brand) BB cream, then nars blush, but now I don't know where to put this! it says reapply every 2 hours.... does it go on instead of my BB cream? or does it replace my moisturizer? Is this the Shiseido BB Cream I've been dreaming of, and I didn't even know it? oh god please tell me I must know! XD haha

I'm going to be weird and answer my own question because I found it out..

First off I'm a BB Cream queen. I'm totally addicted to it, I've tried almost every brand I can think of, nothing surpasses the original Korean BB Creams, which are thick and offer a lot more coverage then most American counterparts.

This is definitively a tinted moisturizer. While it does do some stuff BB Creams do, like color correction, a veil of color, and comprehensive sun protection, it does not do key things a BB Cream does.

It is not a primer, for one. A BB Cream is almost always a primer, or can be used as a primer.

It offers a light wash of color. If that's all you want, great. I use it between primer and BB cream now. It adds a nice depth to my tone.

It doesn't offer any skin correcting ingredients. It has protection, but BB Creams have things to reduce irritation, whiten the skin, protect against break outs, whatever the case may be. They where originally invented by a dermatologist for their patients to use after treatment. The skin treatment step is also included in a nice BB Cream. That way, with time, your skin will look better.

Since it doesn't prime, and it doesn't offer much coverage, if you are like me and like big color in your eyes or your blush to pop, you will have a hard time. It absorbs quickly and leaves the skin silky and lovely, but there isn't much to blend into. A foundation at least, if not a BB Cream, is needed as an inbetween to blend things at the very least.

Do not get me wrong, it is a phenomenal product, I LOVE it, and am never without it when I go out, but it isn't a BB Cream. Maybe some day Shiseido will bless us with a BB cream, but until that day, I will use Missha (wonderful Korean company of BB creams) on top of this before I go out ^^

I have been using a bb cream for the last months. Prior to that I was basically making my own by combining my favorite moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation. This is not marketed as a bb cream but that is how I use it and think it surpasses any I have tried or combined myself. I highly recommend it. In fact this is the 1st product that I have ever reviewed because I love it soooo much!

You'd apply it with your fingers just as you'd apply moisturizer. Put a few healthy drops at the center of your face (ie. nose, forehead, chin) and blend outward covering your whole face with the product.

Question
Appy over or under makeup/other skin products?
I use an all physical sunscreen, which I have learned to apply on top of makeup. I am confused on the debate about what can cause chemical sunscreens to degrade, and have read different opinions on when to apply. Since this is both chemical & physical sunscreen, can I still apply as a final step, over moisturizers/anti-aging products? Thank you !

I think the basic rule of thumb tends to be that you should apply skin products in the order of thickness. For example, watery or liquid moisturizers would be applied first, then serums, then creamy moisturizers. I would put this product on after moisturizers and before make-up. Your sunscreen should be applied based on its consistency, after the moisturizers. So if it's thicker than the Shiseido, apply it after, otherwise, apply it before.
