The Drybar fragrance opens up with the clean freshness of green herbs and a pinch of Cara Cara Orange. Exceptional ingredients such as Jasmine, Orange Flower and Anise constitute the heart of this mysterious and warm fragrance. Rare Australian Sandalwood, rich Vanilla from Madagascar and White Musk round it up.

It smells slightly soapy, slightly musky. I loved this scent so much. Hated the product, though.

I have a really hard time describing it. It's not fruity, it's really clean smelling but perfum-y at the same time. I like it & don't think its overpowering at all like some of the reviews state. It's all in personal preferrence though:) The entire line has the same scent which is nice.

You can definitely use this product on dry hair before straightening or curling it, just make sure the product is completely dry and absorbed into the hair before using any heat tools on it.

Question
Is this the same formula?
I am not sure when the packaging changed, but I am just catching wind of this. The original formula is a staple in my hair routine, so is it the same? I will be so sad if this is a different product!

Question
Does this work well on ethnic (or mixed) hair?
Usually products like these work the best for caucasian hair (or chicks with straight/ easy to manage hair) and I was wondering if it was just as effective on all hair types. Generally hair that is a bit more of a chore to straighten (i.e. curly hair, and ethnic hair)

I am caucasian but my hair is coarse, curly in some areas and wavy in others. This product was no good for me. My hair became more dry and a straw-like texture after blow drying and flat ironing. I really like the Alterna Bamboo Smooth Anti-Breakage Thermal Protectant Spray.

Hot Toddy works on all hair types. For the coarser hair, start with a quarter size amount, focusing on the mid-sections to ends. If you feel like your hair needs a little extra, add a little more product. Keep in mind, Hot Toddy is concentrated so a little, goes a long way.

Question
Can I use this on dry hair?
This came with my curling iron, which I love. But the iron is VERY hot and I feel like my hair needs some protection. Hot Toddy says to use on damp hair, but I need to have dry hair for the curling iron!

answer 2
Hot Toddy was designed to be used on damp hair before you blow dry to reduce friction and overheating but also to alleviate the formation of frizz. The protection will last even after hair is dry so if you flat iron your hair will still be protected.

Question
Can I use on dry hair?
Can I use hot toddy on dry hair? I don't blow dry, which I know defeats the purpose of your brand, but I flatiron after it has air dried and love that your product says it seals split ends and de frizzes.

I think would have to rewet, or reapply Hot Toddy again before blow drying. The product is more on the creamy side and tends to dry sticky, if not done while wet/damp. For best results, I would use as directed for the best outcome!

Yes - it's a very similar scent but just a bit more amplified. It makes your hair smell amazing after you use it and the scent still lingers even after you're done drying your hair.

Still has a great smell, but is a little bit sweeter like a bakery smell. Close to the same smell as the Drybar mask, Mudslide.

I use this BEFORE I put drybar's Southern Belle mousse in my damp hair. I then put it on my dry hair right before curling. Either way - this stuff with protect your hair from heat no matter if it's on top of another product or under it.
