Detox Dry Shampoo works well on all hair shades. Remember to shake it well before usage. Then spray on a few inches away from the scalp - for darker hair it is best to go about 4 inches away. Let it try for a few seconds then brush it off or blend it in with your fingers. Alternatively, you can try Detox Dry Shampoo for Brunette which was designed especially for brunettes. Enjoy!

Hello Beauty Insider!

I have black hair, and I experienced a problem with the product because it is of a brown-ish color. When sprayed, my hair looked kind of gray-ish. I'd recommend trying another dry shampoo (perhaps Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray). I wish you good luck in your search :)

I have strawberry hair. The best part about this product is that it is so light, even though it says run fingers through hair after spray, I don't feel as if there is anything I need to "blend in", and light streaks would show up in my red hair. It's worth the try, especially because of Sephora's generous return policy.

Many of the other brands note if they are appropriate for dark hair. This one does not. Just curious if it was omitted or if it isn't appropriate. Thank you.

Yes, but if you use too much it looks gray. Just use a tiny bit, wait 2 or 3 minutes, and massage into scalp like it says on the package. If you have really dark hair like me, you will probably also need to run a brush through your hair to eliminate the excess and get rid of that dusty look.

Question
can girls who exercise frequently use this?
I exercise every day for at least two hours, and I'm blonde so my hair gets really nasty, really quick. (The only thing I've ever done to it is cut it. It's never been colored or treated) But, I'm in college, and the dorm showers have almost no water pressure plus it's full of sulfates and chlorine. So on top of that, when I shampoo even with only a dime-sized amount, I still can't wash all the shampoo out. The ultimate result from all this is my hair is brittle and greasy and starting to fall out. (Not a lot, but it's noticeable when I brush my hair) Will this dry shampoo "save" my hair?

The Drybar fragrance opens up with the clean freshness of green herbs and a pinch of Cara Cara Orange. Exceptional ingredients such as Jasmine, Orange Flower and Anise constitute the heart of this mysterious and warm fragrance. Rare Australian Sandalwood, rich Vanilla from Madagascar and White Musk round it up.

Question
Anyone have issues with the bottle clogging?
I have purchased this twice from DryBar and then found out Sephora sells it so wanted to start buying here for the points! In the last week and a half I have managed to break/clog do something to 3 bottles. I have never had a problem with this happening before but I use it once and it clogs/doesn't work again. And then leaks out this liquid until the can is completely drained. It just happened to today for the third time so I am going to go back to Sephora and hope I don't get hassled for having to exchange again. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here in using this product since I have used it just fine in the past.

I had the same problem with two bottles draining out - maybe it would have helped to shake more aggressively. One of the times I returned the bottle, the salesperson was very nice about it, but unfortunately when I went to do this again today, the manager clearly thought I was lying and made a big deal in front of the entire store about how it was just so improbable that this actually happened. I should have told her to look at these reviews...unbelievably embarassing.

I've also had an issue with three bottles so far. I don't know why I keep trying it- there's clearly a problem with the design- the can can't hold the air pressure inside long enough for me to be able to use up the product and one day it just leaks or stops working all together. So sad because when it actually works it's great:(

Yep! I've had the exact same problem. I'm on bottle #2 because of this and just this morning, that bottle stopped working, too (after using maybe 2 or 3 times). It makes a whistling sound and beige liquid drips out. It will not spray no matter how much I shake, rinse under water, use a pin, etc. Very frustrating! And I feel like the store won't believe me when I go in AGAIN to exchange it. When it sprays, I really love the product, but I might be done at this point. What a waste of $20 - and my time.

Absolutely! Detox Dry Shampoo absorbs oils and dirt from hair but doesn't contain sulfates or other chemicals that could ruin a keratin treatment or even a Brazilian blowout. Using Detox Dry Shampoo after having a keratin or Brazilian blowout done is actually great because it will allow you to avoid washing your hair for several days after the initial treatment. It will also help you prolong the benefits by not washing hair every day.
