No. It is quite thick. Someone described it negatively as like Elmer's Glue. That's a fair assessment, but I like the texture.

answer 2
It's the same consistency as the original Hope in a Jar. And it's not heavier. Actually when I had the original the oil separated from the cream. This one does not do that.

Heavier and thicker, but you put it on before bed so its not really an issue

This is a light cream and you do not have to use a lot of it. Blends in the skin well and leaves your skin soft and firm feeling. I love i!

It is heavier, but I found the texture of the original to be difficult to work with. This one is heavier, but not too heavy. I have oily skin that has to put up with Wisconsin's long, harsh winters, and the texture of this cream is perfect.

It is a little thicker than the day cream version. When I wash my face in the morning, I can feel it coming off, if that helps quantify the thickness. It doesn't feel heavy on, but definitely not light & fluffy.

I'd say it's lighter even. The regular Hope In A Jar felt too greasy for me (I even have dry skin) so I had to use the oil free. However, I JUST bought the Hope In A Jar Night. LOVE IT.

This product does not have a smell. The consistency is the same. Though when I used the Hope In a Jar (original), the oil separated from the cream. This one does not do that.

I had the same concerns- I hated the smell of the original, I found the texture difficult to work with, and it always made my eyes water. The new version takes care of all that. The scent is subtle, and it doesn't bother my sensitive eyes. It's also creamier, which I find easier to work with.

Yes. You have to be consistent and if you are sensitive do not use every night, slowly work up to every night. Don't use along with retinol or retina a or any acne product at night, during the morning using an acne product is fine but do not combine them. Glycolic acid can be great for turning over cells and helping to aid in the recovery of acne scarring. It won't necessarily be miraculous but this is a great product.

I didn't notice a significant difference on my scars. However I did notice a difference in skin texture over all (i.e. smoother, softer, etc.) and that was just from a sample so maybe using a whole jar will make miracles happen!

I am using this Philosophy product. It does not state on the jar that this product is good for dark spots and skin scars. I suggest you type those issues in the Sephora search bar, (one at a time) to find product (s) that can address those issues for you. I have seen products that address "age spots" but don't know which ones might help soften scars. Good luck!

This might be a little much for someone like you. I have fairly sensitive skin and when I use this after swim workouts or after any exfoliation, I've noticed I experience a brief burning sensation after application. It is an intensive moisturizer, but there might be better options out there.

I have with good results, but I try to give some time between the two to allow the Help Me to absorb as I've heard from friends that retinoids and AHAs sometimes don't interact well. A ten minute break between the two seems to work for me.

answer 3
Absolutely! I have combination skin and if I don't use the right moisturizer my face tries to overcompensate by producing more oil (hence more breakouts). The lotion actually balances out your skin and repairs it over night to give you a fully moisturized face so that your skin doesn't have to produce more oil. I've been using it for 3 weeks and love it :) Start off slow, though. It does have glycolic acid in it, so you may be a bit sensitive. Mix it with your normal moisturizer and use it every other night when starting off. I built up a tolerance within a few days. Good luck!

Question
Can I use this after my Clinique Even Better Moist. + & / OR Clinique Repairwear Intensive Night Cream ?
I'm 33 with fair to meduim skin tone that can be sensitive to some products. I use Clinique's Even Better Moisturizer + ( faithfully ) anytime I wash my face. I was wondering if I could use the Hope In A Jar Night after I moisturize my skin (Clinique told me it's a moisturizer made to enhance other products as well as moisturize)? Also, If I thought (well, knew for sure really ) that it would be ok I would like to use it after my Clinique Repairwear Intensive Night Cream as well ( or just the 2- night cream & Hope In A Jar Night). I kinda got off my night time skin care band wagon & would like to jump back on full force ( if you know what I mean)?! lol I read on the delux sample to apply after any treatments so I figured that included all I have mentioned ( & my eye creams: Clinique All About Eye's & Repair Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream) but wanted to make sure. I don't want to waste any (using it incorrectly) so I can see if I really like it ( & it works for me ) before I make a purchase. SO, any sugestions on how to properly use it & get the best results would be great! I do know to start off slow to minamize irritation as well, right? What do you suggest (every other night at 1st / every 3rd night, etc.)? Keep in mind I will be using Time In a Bottle in the a.m. (I'm sure that matters). Also, can I use Hope In A Jar Night around my eye's ( near crow's feet, etc. ) just not directly under them? And if so, what order for that ( or leave something off)? I know this is a bunch of questions! Appreciate the info & help :) Thank You!

Yeah, I agree. Do u think by chance that the Hope in a Jar Night (delux sample) could have caused my face to have been sunburned just by setting by the window the next a.m. after using it? I didn't think much a/b it (& only used it twice) & just sat down to do my normal routine in the a.m. (1st thing), coffee & read, then on to my to' do's! Anyways, since I used it, let the window pane sun accid. get my cheeks got "rosey" (& I am going thru menapouse/ hormones of FUN, FUN, FUN), do u think this combined w/ that could have caused my broken capillaries on my cheeks that WERE NEVER THERE BEFORE?! I can explain / ask the question better later if needed just in a hurry b/c I'm getting ready to take my husband to the Dr. & kids off to school, SO I'm sory if it's jumbled :) ! Anyways, it's ugly, I hate it, & it won't go away. I think I may need laser treatment or something :( ! BLAH! Any idea's ladies?! Thank U as always xo

I don't think there's a need for both. Hope in a jar night is thick and rich. I think it would be too much to stack it. I love this stuff. I don't know much about the Clinique products though.

I currently use this product with Time in a Bottle. I have to let the serum soak in for 10 min before using this product. If i don't then the serum reacts with the product and peels off.

Question
What percentage of glycolic acid?
I like to use retinol based products and need to know if it will be too much. Currently I am trying the Vivite skin care line which used 20% glycolic acid and while my face looks great, my throat got irritated. (So did a gf of mine until she got used to it). Now I am not sensitive; I get peels on a regular basis, but the Vivite line is strong. It would be great if it won't burn my skin off...So back to Philosophy..I want moisture to play nice with my other products.

I'm not quite sure what the % is but I can promise it's no where near 20%. If I remember correctly I believe it was something like .5%-2% at the most. I know it was a very small amount because I have sensitive skin and I was concerned when buying it. I've been using the product for 3 weeks and have built up a tolerance to it. The first few days left me a bit flaky, but I just mixed it with some of my normal lotion and was good to go. Don't overuse and try using it every other night until your tolerance is built up. I'm using it every night now by itself and my skin looks amazing. Good luck!
