This product is not good for oily skin. It turned me completely oil after a few hours over a really good primer. You should try Make Up Forever matte velvet or Lancôme 24 hour foundations.

I have combination to oily skin and normally after 4 hours or so of wear, I get some sheen but it's more of a glow than oily. I use a matte powder to set in the morning and that's all. Touch up with powder sometimes midday depending if I want it more matte. I've worn it to weddings and other events and stays on all night and looks great in pictures.

Question
What is best way to apply this foundation?
From the reviews, it sounds like this foundation is a bit thick. What is recommended way to apply for natural look besides the Cover FX foundation brush? sponge? Foundation brush?

I use a makeup sponge to apply this -- it allows me to get an even, thin layer, and that's all you need with this foundation, although I will build it up a little more to cover a specifc discoloration.

Beautyblender is the way to go! It creases up too much with fingers because of the concentrated color.

I used my fingers for a while, over some sort of moisturizer or primer because it won't spread well otherwise. I've just started using a beauty blender to apply it, and that works GREAT. Because the bb is a little damp when you use it, I think it helps to smooth out this particular foundation really well.

Hi jewelabq! You can apply this foundation with your fingers or a Beauty Blender to get a natural coverage.

Question
I was color matched to this in store but now I feel like it looks too orange. What can I do?
I was color matched to G50 and it looked like a good match in the store. However, once I went outside and saw it in natural light, it looked too orange or maybe a shade too dark. I'm not sure what I could do as far as color. I have so much trouble finding a good match for my skin tone and I thought for sure getting the color iq done and trying it on in the store would help a lot but it didn't.

I would perhaps try one shade lighter, and in the Neutral tones instead of the Golden tones, so maybe the N40.

I was also matched in the G category in store probably because I have yellow/gold undertones. And same as you I walked outside and felt like I looked like a Jersey girl clown! The color that ended up matching me perfectly in natural light and looking great everywhere else was N60. It was still a warm color on me but didn't add any orange or gold I didn't need. I would recommend swapping to a neutral tone foundation or trying a neutral powder on top of your existing foundation and seeing if it'll play it down :)

G50 has golden/yellow undertones. If you like the product finish, I would try N50. N is neutral (and P is pink undertones). You can either return it, or try a sample of the N50 (or N40 depending on your shade) and mix a little of the two together. I was also color matched with the IQ system and I felt like it was a little off. I end up mixing my foundations anyways! Hope this helps.

Question
Cover FX vs. Make Up For Ever (foundation)
How does this foundation compare with Make Up For Ever's HD foundation? Coverage, how long it lasts, more or less non-comedogenic, etc.

I have combo/dry skin, if that helps with an assessment.

has a zero irrtancy score so u can sleep in it and it wont break you out, coverage is builable and is a thicker consistancy. U may find MUFE is easier to blend because of the consistancy change, just find ur perfect brush something dense but not too dense and do one area at a time it dries fast and it wears all day, and has similar natural finish as MUFE..So main difference is consistancy and is better for ur skin

I have used both. I prefer the Cover Fx as it is not as heavy, it stays, and it fits my skin color better. Has yet to break me out, and new products always do. I am natural redhead fair skin..... so I would try the Cover FX. Sephora has a great return policy, and the store consultants have helped me greatly in matching my color. Great collection , concealer and powder. Reasonable price.

Question
Which color? Need a shade lower than E-Light
I am currently using Cover FX Skin Tint in E-light. It is a tad dark, but not by much. I wanted to know which foundation color would be best for me. I believe I would be an N, since my makeup artist told me my skin is both pink and yellow. Which color do you think would be the best match for me? Thank you

It's hard to determine undertones on the web. A beauty expert at Sephora will be able to help you find the right shade you'll need according to your undertone. Make sure to stop by your local Sephora for more help.

do the neutral undertone N this line already runs a tad yellow. Neutral is always a safe bet, to ensure you dont look orange.

C wud be Pink so you wud be in the Pink Undertones which is usually for very fair skin, women who burn easily in the skin..Try the N undertone which is neutral it has both warm and cool (golden and pink) and is alot more flattering on any skin type

I haven't used the old formula, but P is for pink undertones, N is for neutral, and G is for golden. It's most likely the same.
