This particular shade is not perfect on all skin tones. UD now makes a "light" and "dark" version with this original being their "medium" but Sephora doesn't appear to sell those two shades online. I have very fair skin and use the "Light" version. I think I remember the Light and Dark versions being available at my local Sephora store the last time I was there so you might go check them out in person.

No, not all skintones. I am very fair with pink undertones (I wear 0.5 in their foundation) and this is too dark and orangey for me.

Not the greatest BB for fair or cool toned skin. Comes out orangey, but it does blend in like a BB cream.

I have yellow/olive-toned skin as well! This will be perfect for your skin...as a matter of fact, I think it was meant for people with our complexion! Depending on how fair or deep your shade is, this might even add a little color to make you look slightly sun-kissed! It does for me, but my skin is pretty fair this time of year.

bb's are meant to be an all-in-one package as i understand it, providing moisturizing, smoothing, evening skin tone properties, and spf....i like this concept, the fact it's all you need after cleansing, toning....if you like as minimal coverage as necessary, light, airy, natural feeling, this is all you need and urban decay is one of the best!! in fact i like bb's with a little dusting of mineral veil and that's it...today i just used this without the veil, in a hurry...and was amazed how great it worked for me!! hope this helps...

You don't have to. It depends on how much coverage you'd like. Sometimes I wear the BB cream and some concealer and that is usually enough.

I do! The bb cream evens out my skin tone beforehand, so I end up having to use less foundation.

Yes sometimes I do. I like BB naked under my foundation or mineral makeup for more coverage. I also wear it on its own with a little blush, concealer and translucent powder.

If you want to use foundation, then it will work perfectly over the Naked Skin BB cream. The Naked Skin leaves skin with a very smooth, even surface like a primer would. I don't use foundation over the Naked Skin bb cream because it evens my skin tone and smooths over pores well enough that I don't feel I need foundation on top. I just add my normal make up (cream blush, concealer where needed and eye make up) then finish with translucent powder in the t-zone.

The difference in these two item numbers is one is a travel size and one is full size. There are not different colors to choose from it is a translucent product really. It has a slight pigment to correct redness but it isn't like foundation it is sheer.

Question
Should I apply a powder over this?
Should I apply a powder over the UD Naded Shin Beauty Balm if I wear it alone? I use MUFE HD powder regularly to set my usual foundation. I have oily skin and don't want to shine mid-day, but I also don't want to disrupt the "light-reflecting" properties. I just recently purchased this and have not tried it yet. Any thoughts?

While a setting powder is not necessary, if you would like to ensure a more matte finish throughout the day, a translucent powder over the BB Cream or over your T-Zone would help cut any mid-day oil build up.

Do you use a primer with BB creams?
I don't know why but, I am so confused with this BB thing. I can't imagine not putting on moisturizer before I put a makeup product on my face. Are you supposed to apply a primer before the BB cream? Or does that matter?

I apply a light oil free face cream from Dr. Dennis gross first. Allow it to settle in then put on the Naked BB. That's it! maybe a little under eye concealer, and dust my face with a little Smooth Operator from Tarte. :)

This Urban Decay Naked BB cream works great for moisturizing. I have very dry skin and most times with other BB creams I have to use a moisturizer underneath. Otherwise my skin will feel tight and be flaky. With the Urban Decay Naked BB Cream I don't have that problem.

So it really depends on your skin type. You might have to experiment. I hope this helps!

BB creams are not typically formulated to be used with a primer. Additionally, I've found many American style BB creams to have heavy silicone bases that makes them function quite a lot like many primers.

BB Creams have a primer, moisturizer, and tad color to start with. So to answer your question, you would be adding extra primer. I put on the sheer primer first and then the BB cream. It may be over kill but I'm just testing out this new BB stuff myself. BB cream has other benefits, like I mentioned, so it may be beneficial.

Will the BB go well with beige skin with pink undertones?
My Urban Decay foundation number is 3.5... I see a lot of people writing saying it's good for them because they have olive skin. My skin isn't olive, but not wicked pale either. I am also "nude" in the sephora compact foundations. I really want to get this!

I also use Urban Decay Foundation in 3.5. This product is not tinted but it does have a pigment to block redness. It really doesn't provide coverage but it perfects the skin. If you have pretty good skin without blemishes this product is amazing. If you need coverage this would be an awesome primer but pricer then others. It has a peppermint smell that I am crazy in love without I don't know that other people would like that as much as I do.

I would go for the one that seems slightly darker than your skin tone and then use a small amount and pat it in with your fingers. Don't drag it across your face, but gently pat and don't use too much initially. Add more if you think you need it.

i have light/medium skin but it tends to be on the lighter side. This product is dark for me but because it is pretty sheer, it gives me a nice glow but i have to make sure i spread it around down my neck and chest as well. Its awesome to have during the summer because you'll be tan and want something to give you an even skin tone and a "no pores" effect.

This is the Best BB cream out there in my opinion. It isn't color specific and isn't intended if you are wanting a lot of coverage or concealer. It leaves the skin so radiant and pretty. If you need more coverage use this first then apply a foundation over it. This would be perfect for any skin tone except really dark skin.

I'm African American and have bronze undertones. It doesn't quite cover the few blemishes I have on my skin because it's not dark enough. I think that's the problem with all BB creams, not just this one. Even their darkest shade will not be dark enough for African American skin tones. I still use a foundation over the BB cream.

I'm not certain. I'm African American with olive undertones and it matches, but I have a lighter skin-tone. I don't think it dries "pink" on the skin, but I can't say how it would be on another person.
