Questions & Answers for Too Faced The Secret To No Makeup Makeup

Question
How shimmery is the bronzing veil? Like too shimmery to contour?
I have very pale skin

The bronzer is pretty shimmery--not good for a contour imo, as it is also pretty light. I would use it as an all-over bronzer to give a little warmth to the skin. Only good if you like a dewy finish.

I think the bronzer is perfect for contouring. The color is VERY light, I almost worried at first that it would not even show up. However, it gives a nice subtle glow to skin and is great for subtle contouring. I don't even notice the shimmer after I've applied it.

It's got some shimmer, yes, but it's not sparkly, if that helps. I am very fair, and a little bit of this goes a long way. I don't know if the color is deep enough for a lot of contouring, though, it's pretty translucent. It's a great subtle bronzer, just enough color to make me look not pasty-white.

I have very fair skin and did not find the bronzing veil too shimmery at all. It is pretty subtle.

I have fair skin, and I found this too shimmery and too light in color to contour. I was hoping to use it for contouring too! It's great for adding warmth and glow though.

It is a nice natural shimmer, no glitter. But the beige coloring is pretty sheer, more like a highlighter. I have pale skin as well, and I don't think it gives enough pigment to use as a contour color.

Question
How does this compare to their Natural Face palette?
This looks the same as the Natural Face palette--bronzer on left, two blushes in the center, one creme and the other powder, then highlighters and concealer on the right. The only difference I see is this appears lighter and pinker. Is that the case, or is it just the computer screen? I'm interested in getting this, but don't want to duplicate something I already have. If Too Faced just changed the name and you know about this, please let me know. Thanks!

I have both and the only differences are the bronzer and blush colors. The concealer, highlighter and brightener are all the same. The Secret to No Makeup kit has much pinker blushes, the Natural Face Palette has more rosy brown blushes.

I do own both of these palette's. In fact, I loved the first one so much I was thrilled to see a new version. You are correct in that this one is very similar to the first, bronzer, creme blush, powder blush, concealer, highlighter, brightener. What I love about this one is that the colors are softer and much more pink. The bronzer is MUCH lighter, which at first I was worried it wouldn't be effective. However, the color is very nice and adds a subtle glow. The pink blushes are both beautiful and add a nice touch of color, giving me a natural flush without looking made up. I would say I like this one even more than I liked the first palette, which is saying something. However, the blushes are VERY pink. I find this gives a nice glow but if pink isn't your think then this one isn't for you.

I've been meaning to answer this, but never got around too it. I pretty
much agree with the other answers given. I was DYING to buy the
1st palette as I had just started contouring. I ended up going back three
times to sample the colors and finally had to admit it would never work
for me. I am extremely fair and almost EVERY color in that palette was
too dark or turned orange. And then this kit came out and I could have
cried....every color was a perfect match except one (the concealer is
too dark for me). I'm sure that skin tone and coloring are a major factor
in deciding between the 2, but the colors in the new kit just seem more
subtle and life like, while the colors in the other seem much more bold.
Hope this helps a bit.

I had the other one and returned it. This one is definitely different: much better for fair skin with pink tones. The colors are much lighter/more sheer than the other Too Faced palette.

This one is definitely more cool-toned than the other. The blushes are cool bright pink instead of warm rose, the luminizer is icy and silvery instead of champagne, and the bronzer is lighter and pinker in color. Also, this one is housed in a metal tin instead of cardboard.

The colors in this palette are going to give you luminous skin and pink cheeks. The colors in the previous face palette will give you bronzed skin and peach/coral cheeks. Hope this helps!

Question
too shiny for a 47 year old?
I have blue eyes, red hair, and fair skin. I have small wrinkles under my eyes, and I'm worried the luminizer will settle into my wrinkles and make them spakle LOL. Has anyone my age with eye wrinkles used this product with success?

I'm only 27 and the concealer settles into the fine lines under my eyes. The illuminizer is even more creamy so I'd imagine it would be worse. Using a base helps but doesn't solve the problem.

I just bought this and have been using for 2 weeks? I'm 49...I love it...I'm converting to cream everything. No settling in the wrinkles, eye lines, etc....not too sparkly at all....set it with some powder.

I am 41 and just started using this set. The luminizer has only slight shimmer, and is not glittery at all. I use it on my cheekbones and have not found it to crease up at all. I wouldn't put it directly under my eye, though. The brightener might work under the eye, as it is pretty creamy so it shouldn't exacerbate any under eye problems. Also, these colors are perfect for fair skin.

I am 46, fair, blue eyes and blonde-ish. I also have fine lines under/around my eyes. I usually put the luminizer just under or above my brows. It is very subtle. I do not find it shiny at all, just really pretty. The concealer and brightener are good, also not shiny, and do not settle into the lines below my eyes. The bronzer is very light, great for fair complexions. The creme blush is perfect.

Question
Will this collection provide coverage on my medium to olive skin? I have brown eyes, aging skin, and dark brown hair?
I am looking for a product that will add youthfulness and coverage but will not cause break outs. I usually don't have trouble with acne, but the last product I tried (Benefit's "Hello Flawless!" facial powder cover-up) seems to promote breakouts on me. I use a moisturizer and a primer before applying the powder with a brush.

While I do love this palette, I don't think I would consider it as giving coverage. I use it after I have applied foundation. It does work great to give a youthful glow to skin and gives a natural, beautiful look without appearing made up. The concealer is effective but, again, I would not use alone. I would definitely recommend this in conjunction with a foundation.

Hmm...sounds like your looking for coverage, No this kit will not cover dark circles or spots. But, for a quick, out the door, no makeup look, on a rushed day that makes you look put together, this is a good kit. My BFF has olive skin, thats is dry, with lots of sunpots, she uses Benefit Hello flawless oxygen Wow! in shade: I'm for the money Honey!, Has GREAT coverage!...then Too Faced-No makeup makeup kit for all over face & voila! I have light skin that is combination & this kit also works for me! I use benefit hello flawless in shade: I'm plush & precious, petal. a great concealer for coverage and brightening is Clinique Airbrush Concealer-LOVE this for my dark circles! Hope all this helps!

Bronzer: fluffy brush or stippling brush
Powder blush: contour or round blush brush
Cream blush: fingers (blend a tiny bit in circular motions on apples of your cheeks). You can also use a small round blush brush!
Use your fingers to blend everything else the way the instructions suggest.

answer 2
You could use your fingers for almost everything in this kit, except one of the blushes and the bronzer, which you will need a brush for. I put on all of the creams with my fingers, but you could use a small concealer type brush. If you have a blush brush, that would be acceptable for both the powdered blush and the bronzer. Definitely use you fingers for the cream blush, and remember it is very pigmented and only takes a small swipe to cover your cheek, blend it well!

Question
Can I buy the concealer in this palette without repurchasing the whole thing?
I like the concealer in this palette, but I'm using it up much faster than the other items. Does Too Faced sell this concealer separately?

Exactly my thoughts. I love several items in the palette and wanted to buy them individually-nope. A huge Too Faced mistake. Maybe if enough request they will.
