Questions & Answers for bareMinerals Faux Tan Body Sunless Body Tanner

Question
Will this fade/run from sweat and water?
I've had self-tanners that run, I would really like to try this because it's something new.

I do not have an issue with this product running...it does fade over time, which is only natural..just simply apply more...wait a bit before putting jeans or slacks on

I wouldn't use it on the face, purchase the Bare Minerals Faux Tan Face lotion, it works really well! The face lotion is specifically designed for the face so it gives you a gradual tan over time. You wouldn't want a dark tan on your face right away it might look weird!

This will for about the first 6-8 hours, after that you are good to go! I usually apply in the evening. This will leave a bit of color on your bedding/clothes but it comes out easily with usual laundering.

Apply this before bed and wait about 7 hours before showering or getting wet. I apply it and stand in front of a fan for a few minutes before getting into bed to allow it to dry. If you sweat or get wet before about 5-7 hours it might run. But after that you can sweat and shower and it wont run or come off.

While I wouldn't suggest using this specific product on the face, there is a face product in this same line (Faux Tan Face Gradual Glow Sunless Tanner).

http://www.sephora.com/faux-tan-face-gradual-glow-sunless-tanner-P378705?skuId=1497163

The body product can be harsh on sensitive or acne-prone skin and can also tan TOO much and look "off". The face product is formulated to be easier on your skin and to give a glow without being too jarring.

I have used it on my face but it was a bit too dark and came off with my make up, I would recommend the formula for your face, however if you want a healthy glow and are forgoing makeup this works well.

Question
Fast drying?
How quickly does this dry after application? Some self tanners take a while before you can get dressed. So I was just wondering if it took a while to dry.
Thanks :)

It feels like it's dry around 5 minutes, but I let it sit for 10-15 mins just to be safe!

I would say the dry time on this is about 15 minutes. It will depend on how heavy you apply it, the humidity level where you are, ambient temperature, etc. I think this stuff dries pretty quick for me, and I live in the VERY humid Midwest.

We suggest allowing the self tanner several minute to dry prior to dressing. Typically 10 minutes or so to ensure proper drying.

I have used both - found faux tan by bare minerals to be much better. Colour was better, dried faster, smelled much better. Also lasted longer.

I truly love them both. I love their aromas so much, I feel that St. Tropez can look just a tiny bit pink at first and it's a little harder to blend across the skin evenly. But truth be told, I own them both, and use them interchangeably....

When applied correctly, yes. Be sure to exfoliate before applying the tanner and letting it dry completely (best practice is to apply it before bed, wait at least 10 minutes and then leave it on while you sleep, then shower in the morning to remove excess product).

After you wash off the product, moisturize frequently (especially after showering) and do not exfoliate unless you are planning to add more tanner.

I'm not sure if it is technically "waterproof" but as with any self-tanner I wouldn't shower within 4-8 hours (I usually wait overnight anyway). I showered the next morning and it stayed put. The color lasted about 4-5 full days.

yes, after it has developed for a couple hours.
Just don't rub too much with soap/washcloth or it will start to come off.

I do 1-2 pumps on each body part then spread with a mitt. I add lotion at the end to my hands, feet and ankles to diffuse any dark color.

It really depends on how sensitive your skin is. Some people can get away with using the body product all over, some can't. If you commonly have acne or rashes, you are probably safest using the face product in this same line.
