Questions & Answers for Clarisonic Cleansing Brush Head Value Pack

Question
Smelly brush head!?!?
My husband and I both have our own brush heads that we use. My husband's brush has started to smell like mildew after two weeks of use, but mine has no smell at all. We dry our heads the same way, so I'm not sure why his would smell and mine would not. Does anyone have any clue why this might happen or what we can do to prevent/help it? Even after washing his head with soap, it still stinks!

Just an additional note: I do wash the brush every week. I've been using dish soap and rubbing alcohol when cleaning it now and it seems to have made a difference. Thanks for all the responses.

I wash mine in a bleach solution about once a month, I never had a smelly one.
I do it to deep clean it.

I used to wash the brush head with a bit of Hibiclens (antiseptic/antimicrobial cleanser) and warm water after every use, shake the water out and swipe the brush over a paper towel a few times (to speed up the drying process). When I ran out of Hibiclens one day, I tried antibacterial hand soap but it did not leave the same clean smell once it dried, so I washed the brush again with the hand soap and a splash of 91% rubbing alcohol and that did the trick (cheaper than Hibiclens, but not as convenient). I know the Clarisonic instructions are to do a thorough wash with soapy water once a week, but I really don't think that's enough.

Every Clarisonic model has the same sized head so they use the same brush heads. It's a really great feature so there's no guesswork involved and no confusion. The only exception to this rule is Clarisonic Plus, which is the only model that can accommodate the body brush head.

Question
What type of brush head is good for me?
My skin is not typically oily, but I've been suffering from breakouts recently. I just purchased the mia2 and my skin had cleared up for the most part, but now I'm having breakouts again. Should I go for the acne one or the deep pore cleansing?

I was having the same problem. When I bought it, the clarisonic worked so well, but after a while it didn't anymore. I got the acne brush heads and I think just changing the brush head fixed the problem, but the acne one works even better than the original one did.

My recommendation would be to use the regular brushes or deep pore brushes. Believe it or not, the deep pore brushes are not that harsh, so you should be fine. And this is coming from someone who has sensitive dry skin and breakouts....

Because of the price, I change my brush head every 5 months and it is fine. I have been doing this for 3 years and have had perfect results.

answer 2
I've read that the brush heads should be changed once every three months. I believe that assumes once daily use, so I would change them more or less frequently depending on how often you use your Clarisonic.

They literally look like the picture.
when you slide the cardboard "tray" out, the brushes are divided by "dividers" made from cardboard

Question
What you mean Clarisonic cannot guarentee the brush quality?
I thought this brush set was a great value and was going to purchase it, and I saw this:
"We cannot guarantee the efficacy, durability, or long term impact on the device itself, of brush heads not engineered by Clarisonic."
Has anyone had any problem with this brush set? I don't understand how this is not "engineered" by Clarisonic and they cannot guarantee the quality, because it has the Clarisonic brand name at the very top of the product.

It says "of brush heads not manufactured by Clarisonic"... so they can't guarantee the product if you buy brush heads made by another company. The Clarisonic brush heads are great.

If you are going to stay loyal to washing twice a day, every day I think the deep pore brushes will work ideally. I, myself switch between the sensitive and deep pore, every three months and find that it works to balance out my combination skin during the drier winter months.
