Looks like 1/4 -1/2 inch to me.

They are thicker than standard hair ties. Also much softer, but they don't slip out. They're long enough to wear on your wrist, and I can wrap them 4 itmes around a ponytail.

They are definitely thicker than a normal hairtie from the drugstore. These are a bit more than 1/4" wide and somewhat thick. They are actually made from a wider piece of elastic (about 1") that sort of rolls up. I really recommend them, they are so comfortable both in your hair and on your wrist! They do a great job of holding my hair up when its both curly and straight.

I did not find these worth the price or the effort. Poor quality elastic.
