Questions & Answers for Marula Pure Marula Facial Oil

Question
Can you use the Marula oil near the eye area or on the eye lashes?
I'm trying to get my lashes to grow and I like to use vitamin E oil on them at night time. I was just wondering if you can use the Marula oil near the eye area or on the lashes. Thank you for your help.

I have use Marula oil in my eyelids its good but no to close to the eye lashes because it will go to your eyes and you wont be able to see perfectly, it's oil and if you wear contacts you have to wash them

All I can tell you is that I do use it on my eyelids so I'm sure some gets on my lashes. I'm sensitive to everything but I don't know that I would put too much on my lashes. I looked on the official website also and that isn't mentioned. If you are allergic to nuts at all you wouldn't want to put it near your eyes.

I use it around my eyes but not on the eyelashes. It is an oil after all and I don't want it getting in my eyes. I have had no problems with any irritation.

Does anyone use a treatment serum before this oil (when using the Marula oil as a moisturizer)? Or do you use this as the "main serum" and then leave it?

I have combination 41-yr old skin and I use this as my moisturizer. The Marula oil increases the efficacy of other products so make sure you apply the Marula oil as your LAST step if you choose to use another non-oil base lotion or serum. It's more difficult for non-oil products to penetrate facial oils.

I prefer to use it at night with a separate regimen during the day; I want to feel like I'm getting the most benefit it can offer since it's so expensive :) Right before I go to bed I clean my face+eyes well, I apply just Marula all over from my chest to hairline, and then after a minute or two I layer Caudalie's cream mask over it. I've been waking up to the most HEAVENLY skin! If I'm in a rush I can just splash water on my face, pat it dry, and my skin looks ready to go :) FYI: I have super sensitive combination skin, plus I tend to pick at it (a lot) and this heals and calms my skin faster than anything else I've tried

It definitely depends on your skin's needs. I find that during the day this oil serves as my only moisturizer and primer. However, at night I use this in conjunction with another moisturizer (currently using Embryolisse Lait Creme).

You definitely do NOT need a moisturizer over this, nor do you need eye cream or anything else. Being that I live in NY and it's winter, my morning routine is to put this on right after the shower, let it absord, and then follow with a light application of my favorite BB cream to even things out a bit, and then some powder. That's it! On nights when I want a full face of makeup, I put this on and then my foundation right over it and I don't need anything else.

I apply the oil and allow a couple minutes to absorb (so I'll brush my teeth or do something else for a minute) and then I apply my day cream or night cream. I found I couldn't completely go without a moisturizer or after an hour you'd be dry.

My box says 99% Marula Oil, Essential Oil Fragrance Blend (linalook, limonene). I don't know what Linalook is, but Limonene sounds like lemon & it does have a lemony fragrance. It's probably just a tiny bit for the smell.

I posted a review saying this is perfect for women 40+, even those with oily skin at an age when women normally experience dryness and lack of luminosity in their skin. But if it had been around in my 20s and 30s, I would definitely have started using it to prevent lines and wrinkles.

Question
Good for acne-prone skin too?
Would this oil be OK for slightly acne-prone skin? I'm 34 and my skin tends to be a little bit acne prone. I'm interested in this product because all the retin-a and benzoyl peroxide treatments i use dry out my face. Has anyone in my age range with acne tried and liked this oil? thanks.

Question
What are the other ingredients or essential oils?
It says that it includes an essential oil blend (in addition to the marula oil) that provides a "fresh, light fragrance". But what are these essential oils? It's important to know especially for those who have allergies to certain oils.

I have used it below my eyes. The only reason I don't use it on my eyelids is because it is oil based, and my eyeshadow would most likely crease at some point during the day. I also use it on my neck, chest and the back of my hands, as well as my elbows and knees!!
