Perricone MD Blue Plasma

What it is: A nonacidic daily peel that delivers all the benefits of a traditional peel, without causing surface redness, irritation, or damage to skin. What it is formulated to do: Thanks to cutting-edge cosmetic engineering, this peel performs in three gentle, yet powerful modes of action. These include bio-specific peeling of only dead surface skin cells, preserving healthy ones exclusively; micro-extraction of surface debris with deep action that purifies the skin of build-up and pollutants; and hydrofusion with nutrient-rich water to smooth, soothe, and hydrate skin surface. Along with resurfacing the skin, Blue Plasma delivers luxurious luminosity, radiance, and clarity. Users also benefit from improved light reflectivity with increased brightness and glow, unparalleled softness and smoothness, plumpness of the look of lines and wrinkles, and reduction in the appearance of pore size. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens What else you need to know: This product is ideal for all skin types and skin conditions, even the most sensitive. It will not incur any skin damage, micro tears or abrasions, dryness, environmental sensitivity, or downtime. Research results: Consumer use studies of Blue Plasma revealed unprecedented results: Immediately post-application: - 97% agreed their skin looked and felt “baby soft" - 90% agreed their skin was visibly more luminous and felt hydrated After 3 days: - 80% agreed their skin looked dramatically luminous, radiant, and more translucent with a healthy glow - 95% agreed their skin looked renewed without redness, stinging, or burning - 92% agreed they loved how the treatment was less irritating than a chemical peel or an exfoliating scrub After 4 weeks: - 80% agreed their skin appeared dramatically brighter with improved clarity and transformed skin surface - 82% agreed the appearance of their skin’s discoloration has improved and skin felt like it had been replaced with “new skin" - 82% agreed their pores looked as though they had been extracted and the dulling dead cells swept away - 87% agreed it gave them professional results without an appointment and it looked like they had had a facial, saying that it was the best resurfacing treatment that they had ever used

I noticed this too with my sample, but the smell is very faint and goes away immediately. Also, the sephora associate told me that this sample only lasts for 2 days (it needs to be in the glass container to preserve) and the sample bottle is plastic. I smelled this on the 2nd day so it was probably due to it breaking down a little.

Question
How does it smell?
Dr. Perricone's Cold Plasma STINKS like rotten fish! I couldn't even finish the free sample... If Blue Plasma smells ok, I'd be more likely to try it.

I don't agree it smells like fish--has a very slight, vaguely unpleasant odor but nothing that would stop me from buying it--what stops me is the fact that it did nothing for my skin and is expensive :(

It doesn't smell like much of anything to me... some people complain of a fish smell, but I don't smell it. I do use origins anti aging toner that smells wonderful, right before I apply it, so maybe that's why it doesn't smell to me.

USE IT ONCE A DAY ON CLEAN SKIN & DO NOT RINSE OFF. IT SEEKS OUT DEAD SURFACE SKIN AND DISSOLVES THEM AS WELL HAS ITS SUPER HYDRATING. FOR THE LINES AROUND YOUR MOUTH, GET THE ACLY GLUTATHIONE DEEP CREASE SERUM TO ADDRESS THOSE. THAT PRODUCT IS FREAKING AMAZING!! PUT IT ON HALF OF THE FACE THEN COMPARE!!

I use Blue Plasma in the AM before I do anything with my makeup and moisturizer. In the PM I use KATE's retinol product after I cleanse and follow up with a night moisturizer.

There is not a specific product you need to use in conjunction with Blue Plasma. I would use this in addition to a great moisturizer if you are trying to combat fine lines.

Question
Can this product be used with a serum?
If I can still use the serum with the best product, should I apply the serum before or after Blue Plasma? I've grown very attached to my a.m. serum (Lancôme Visionnaire) and my p.m. serum (Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Serum). I had major benefits from both of these serums, and would like to be able to use them with this product. Is that possible? I'm guessing I would use the blue plasma first. What do you think?

Question
best night time moisturizer
... to use with this?
I only started out with a sample, but did get the product that you put on in the AM from Perricone ($125)
This is my first Perricone product and generally I use Bliss or Philosophy skin care -- wanted to make sure that I would still get the same results even if using another brand moisturizer after this product at night. Thanks in advance!

Question
Does this product do what RetinA or other retinol does for you?
I'm wondering if this product will do all the things that you get from using a retinol. Specifically, I am wondering if it helps regenerate collagen and reverse sun damage and repair wrinkles. I have tried the Blue Plasma sample and like what is does for surface texture, hydration, and redness...but I want to know if it will perform those more dramatic repair functions that retinol products do. Thank you!

Not really. It will help brighten, rehydrate, reduce pore size, and get rid of dead skin but it will not reduce sun spots. High Potency Evening has 2% retinol and Vit C Ester 15 will address sun spots and wrinkles!!

Yes it does, but without the irritation and redness of retinol or retin A. This product has left my skin hydrated, smooth and fresh. From what I understand it only exfoliates the dead skin.

I did not personally find this product to work on acne scarring and actually ended up returning it. For the price, there are better products on the market specifically for acne scarring.

This stuff did wonders for my acne scars. I don't know how deep or discolored your scars are, but my scars were more at the surface and red (irritated looking). Also, I cleanse using the Clarisonic Mia2 just before applying the blue plasma. This may help the blue plasma to penetrate deeper into the skin rendering it more effective. I am not a scientist and that's just my theory. My scars are virtually gone now.

I don't think you need toner with this! I just wash with Kate Summerville Detox and then put on the Blue Plasma before bed. You can also put moisturizer on top of it if desired. The beauty of doing it at night is that you wake up looking great! Also, don't think I'd want to put make-up on top of it due to its consistency. Another reason to use it at night.

Since toners are more easily absorbed into the skin, I would recommend using the toner first then applying the Blue Plasma. In my experience, the Blue Plasma turns sticky after having been smoothed over the skin so trying to apply anything on after that doesn't seem like it would penetrate properly.

It's a serum, so a little goes a long way. There's no waste, because it has a dropper. I haven't had it long enough to answer your question, but it seems that I only use a little every day and that it will last a long time.
