Questions & Answers for BECCA Perfect Skin Mineral Powder Foundation

Question
What goes best under this?
I really like the make up forever hd liquid foundation but I am unhappy with their powders. I saw this at the sephora store and was wondering if it would be good to set that foundation with. Am I wrong? Thoughts?

I use this as a setting powder with my Urban Decay liquid Naked foundation. I put on my foundation then swipe on a very thin layer of this to set it, and it's flawless every time. A sephora consulted recommended this and did it for me in the store. I have very normal skin, with an almost completely even skin tone, with few breakout/blemish issues. I don't know how people use this alone as a powder foundation....

This is really a powder foundation, not a setting powder. I therefore think it would be too heavy.

Question
What colors for really fair skin?
Even the colors recommended for "fair to light" skins look really dark- are they?
I looking for something really light with neutral to slightly yellow undertones.
Also, do these powders oxidize once they're on oily skin? It's so hard to find actual swatches of these anywhere. Thanks for taking the time!

Shell is the fairest yellow tone shade. Porcelain is lighter but more pinkish. Hope this helps! :)

Question
Makeup Brush?
What type of Sephora brand brush shall I buy to pair with this Becca foundation? I already have #55 (probrush). Thanks very much!

I guess I can switch over to this current brush and then I saw a bronzer brush that I was interested in... Thoughts?

I invested in the Make Up For Ever Kabuki brush. It's about $40 but you can shampoo it, doesn't shed, and lasts a long time. I've had mine over a year and its still great.

I'd say it gives you a matte look. The good thing is , you can build up the coverage so it doesn't have to be very very matte if you don't want to .

It gives a bit more coverage than the MUFE powder and it also imparts more of a matte glow, if that makes sense. It gives a soft focus effect and it wears even longer than the Make up Forever, if that is even possible.

I have had oily skin all my life. I have been very pleased with the oil absorbing power of this product. This is the reason I chose the powder over the liquid. I do not think you will be disappointed. The coverage is very natural and you can never use too much. You might want to give it a try.

I have been very impressed with Makeup Forever HD pressed powder. I've tried a lot of other powders, and this one gives the most flawless finish and controls oil for the longest.

Question
How does this compare to Philosophy's mineral makeup?
I love Philosophy's mineral makeup - the coverage and I usually don't need a touch up during the day. I have tried several others and keep going back to Philosophy. I have light-med skintone, blue eyes and strawberry-blonde hair. My skin is normal.

I also have light olive skin...I found "Nude" to be a bit too light, so I used "Noisette" in the winter and "Tan" in the summer. When I need to use a liquid foundation, I do use the "Olive", but I do add a bit of the "Opal" luminizer to lighten it up a bit as needed. Good Luck!

I'm guessing that you're asking if the product is "tested on animals". This product itself may not have been tested on animals, but in order for the ingredients of this product to be permitted on, or ingested by, a human being, it must be tested on animals as per the Food and Drug Administration. So, just about all cosmetics companies can make the claim that they, themselves, do not test on animals, but at the time of creation of all the ingredients, ALL of the ingredients were at one time or another tested on animals. Sorry to burst your bubble.
