Question
Good palette for Elderly Skin?
I wanted something for my grandmother, who loves to look her best at age 72. She is very fair skin has medium brown to auburn hair (she dyes) and was wondering if this would be a good palette as far as colors and finishes for her elderly skin. If not, what would you suggest? Thank you!

No, no, a thousand times no. Find her a nice nude palette like Bobbi Brown's sunset hues. These colors are not flattering on more mature women.

I am 50-something and I try to be careful with shimmer eyeshadow. Some of these are on the highly shimmery side, which I think is harsh looking on older skin, as well as calling attention to eye wrinkles. I'd look for a less shimmery option overall for Grandma.

The color selection is really good for fair skin (which is what I have) but I would skip this palette for elderly skin because the strong shimmer may highlight wrinkles unless she is okay with that.

I do not suggest this. Go for something more matte. I like smashbox.

Depending on her preferences, she may prefer a palette with more mattes in it than this palette has - all of the colors have shimmer and some are very shimmery indeed. As an alternative, you may want to look at the Lorac Pro Palette - equally high quality but with a great mix of matte and shimmer!

Very nice of you! This might be a little too shimmery for an older woman. I would suggest something a bit more matte as they say shimmery shadows tend to make wrinkles more noticeable. (when I'm an old woman, I'm going to wear the heck out of shimmery shadows, though...but I think it's my generation)
