Can this product be used to hold makeup in place?
I recently purchased this product at a Sephora store (not being familiar with the brand or product at all) because I was looking for something that would help my makeup last. The salesgirl told me to put on primer, then tinted moisturizer, and then blot this powder over that to keep my makeup in place all day. I came to the website to read reviews bc I was unhappy that it wasn't working. So I guess my question is - is that an intended use for this product? Or was I completely mislead by the salesgirl and forced into purchasing something I did not need or want?

on Blotting Powder
This product can be used to absorb shine thru the day. I have used it to set foundation before and it worked fine.

When i use this product after i apply foundation. But i only use this for a matte finish. After i use this product i finish my face off with the HD mineral powder .
I Loved it . But for the pass month I've been using this product alone just to stay matte throughout the day with touchups.

I use the Cover FX powder brush for application and it works better than the pad that accompanies it. I found patting it with that pad thing did not work. I also use it over the cream foundation from this company which seems to be a good combo.

The use of this is not to keep the makeup in place, but to control shine. If you are looking to keep your makeup lasting all day I would recommend a primer and a finishing powder. This product is used to control shine and absorb any oil on your face.

It is NOT intended for that use. Blotting powder is used to absorb extra oil on your face. Look for Setting Powder or setting spray. It will put a seal over your makeup and they are usually very inexpensive.

I recommend a translucent loose powder for setting. This product is more for shine control. Make Up For Ever has a great HD setting powder, but beware wet sprays like the one from Urban Decay. Personally, I think those are a joke. However, I would hold onto this product for those days you want a matte, perfect Barbie look. I use it as a contour below my cheekbones and other shadowed places on my face. Re-purpose the product and give it another chance to make you look gorgeous!

IT IS ONLY TO CONTROL SHINE. IT IS NOT A SETTING POWDER
