They're deluxe sample sizes. They're certainly not small but they're not full sized. You can compare the amount of product in these to the amount in the regular pencils that urban decay sells.

yes they can be sharpened with a pencil sharpener. they're like the nyx jumbo eye pencils that are plastic as well but still sharpen with a pencil sharpener.

Yes - the pencils can be sharpened. I have the Urban Decay Grind House Sharpener ($10), and it is a great sharpener tailored to the UD pencils. It includes sharpeners for a 2 different sized pencils. I would chill the pencils in the fridge first for an hour or so.....makes it easier to sharpen with less 'loss'. Hope this helps!

I wear contacts and one of the things I love about these eyeliners is that they set quickly, so if I want to wear them on my bottom lid near my eye (I'm sure there's a technical term for that), if I just hold it there for 30 sec or so, it won't transfer to my contacts. This is the only pencil eyeliner I have found that works for me in that capacity.

These pencils may be sharpened. I prefer these rather than the mechanical type pencils so that I can shape the tip to my preference. A small sharpener will work well.

I use a regular, everyday pencil sharpener. Just do not push the pencil hard into the sharpener and it only takes a few twists.

Yes, they need to be sharpened. Urban Decay sells a dual sharpener: one skinny, one fat. It retails for $10 at Sephora and they are right next to the liners. Hope this helps.

If you looked under the title of the product Sephora usually says how much product there is in each item (If it's a set they say how much under "This Set Contains") anywho these pencils are 0.03 oz. and the normal pencils are 0.04 oz.

Empire is described as eggplant. I would say the same about Crash and Rockstar. Are they similar? Is it worth buying Empire if I already have the other two?

Empire seems to be more of a matte blackened purple, very subtle, while I think Rockstar is lighter and has more shimmer. I have both, and love them, but I don't think they're interchangeable.

I have and love both. You are correct that they are both teal. Covet is more glittery; Mainline is darker and more matte. I'd say that Covet is closer to the green side while Mainline leans to the blue.

I have fair skin, brown/highlighted hair, and blue eyes, but I think both would be lovely on brown eyes, too - it really just depends on your taste and what shadows you have that you plan to pair with them. Hope that helps!

How can I prevent smudging when applied on the inner rim?

I've tried many eyeliners and I must say that this collection is pretty great. When worn as traditional liner along the lash line they don't budge, but today I used it on the upper inner rim for the first time with a primer underneath. The smudging wasn't terrible compared to other brands I've used, but still there. What else can I do to guard against smudging/running on the inner rim because I really like the look when first applied. Other brands I've already tried are Makeup Forever, Tarte, & Hourglass. Again, for me, they all work great as liner, but not on the inner rim. Thanks.

Sometimes it's really hard to stop the inner rim or waterline from smudging and/or disappearing on you during the day. One thing you can do (and I personally do) to add staying power, is to use an eyeliner brush with a matte eyeshadow (or shimmer if that's what you'd prefer, but I advise you stay away from glitter) that completely or closely matches the eyeliner you've used and dip the brush into the shadow, tap it off (make sure you tap it off! You don't want that extra shadow under your eye, or worse IN it!) and gently pat it into the waterline over the liner. This is not for everyone, some people's eyes may be to sensitive to tolerate eyeshadow in the waterline, but I have found it works fine for most. I hope this helps! :)
