Question
Will the Aria make my skin worse initially?
I have an important event next weekend that I will be taking pictures at. Will the aria make my skin worse initially?

The Crisonic is designed to really cleanse the skin and it will draw out a great deal of impurities. Depending on the condition of your skin before you start using it...if it's an important event and you don't want to take a chance of having a break out I'd wait until afterwards to start using it. If you have sensitive skin, acne prone skin or are prone to frequent breakouts especially. Pores that are clogged have usually stretched out a bit and become enlarged. As the oils debris and bacteria are drawn out they naturally will collect again until the pores have had a chance to start healing and shrinking. Typically after a few weeks of use the pores have become smaller and less likely to become clogged.

From what I understand it depends on how often you use it initially. If you start by using it every second day it will not dry your skin out, then gradually move up to once a day and then twice daily. I'm a moisturizing junkie so this never dried my skin out. What would cause blemishes is, if you over-used this and your skin started producing extra oil to compensate for the drying. I personally use my aria twice a day for two minutes.. overkill maybe .. but I am addicted :).

I did notice a few pimples that may have been caused by the brush. My skin was definitely softer, but I wound up breaking out a tiny bit. I think if you have blackheads, it can turn them into pimples, because it causes them to surface.

Yes, the skin will naturally break out initially because the clarisonic is cleaning out your pores. But after 2 to 3 weeks it should become clear.

Some people will experience a outbreak because the clarisonic is "purging" out the impurities in the skin through the pores. it's basically a detox for the skin and some people i know have breakouts for a month but then their skin turns amazing and thats the reason i got one cause their skin had a 360 degree turn and ivve never seen my friends skin so perfect before.

Question
Hi! I'd like to know if I can/need to use a scrub while I'm using the Aria.
Or simply if necessary, because I tend to think that the brush's already doing a exfoliating job.

Not recommended to use a scrub or exfoliant with the Clarisonic. However there is a polish that Clarisonic puts out that can be used up to twice per week. The heads exfoliate quite well, and you could simply use a manual exfoliant a couple of times a week in addition. Adding an exfoliant not recommended by or designed specifically for the Clarisonic could damage your skin / machine.

It states in the instruction book that comes with each of the Clairsonic models that you "are not supposed" to use the facial scrubs with the cleanser...they can ruin the brushes. So unless you want to replace your brushes more often then every 3 months, then don't use facial scrubs.

I use it on my chest daily - it would work on your body but it would take a while and the brush will wear out faster.

It is waterproof. It can be used in the shower. Before charging the aria, be sure to dry it 100% so that the charger DOES NOT GET WET! If the charger portion gets wet, that's another story!

It's not recommended because the original has a built in memory for the body brush (clicks in differently to the face and body clarsonic) which applies more speed when the body brush is attached while attaching it to the mias or arias wont have the same desired affect as the face and body.

I would go for the Plus if you want to use it for the body, it has a body brush and will not wear out your brush faster. The brush heads are really meant for the face.

They are all fantastic and the same...some just have a few more features...but none that inter-fear with the cleansing. I purchased the Airia because I liked the ability to change the cleansing programs from short to a longer one plus I can change the speeds as well.

Question
Toner?
I recently bought the Aria. I have been using Clinique 7-day scrub/acne soap/acne toner. Using the Aria every morning in the shower. Is it necessary to still use the 7 day scrub or toner? I do use the turnaround concentrate/moisture surge moisturizer and repairwear eye cream. don't want to over cleanse my skin. My skin has improved greatly with the Aria.

If you love your 7 Day scrub (and I use it too and have an Aria) you'd keep the same routine. You may find that using your scrub only once per week or even every second week works well enough as the Clarisonic does a pretty good job of exfoliating on it's own. The Clinique toner is also an exfoliant however it's primary goal is to reset the PH in the skin and act as an astringent to help tighten the pores. I'd keep using it as well. If you find your skin is becoming a bit dry you can change your Clarifying Lotion to a more gentle one. For example if you use the #2 back down to the #1.

You may still want to use a toner at the end of the day after washing your face to remove any left over buildup or makeup that your cleanser or Aria did not pick up. The 7 day scrub may not be necessary as you do not want to risk over- exfoliating your skin.
