I don't use powder to set this liner and it stays very well. After wearing one of the liners all day I fell asleep without taking it off and when I woke up it was still there. Also my normal face wash takes this right off.

This does stay all day, for up to 12 hours. After that, it begins to fade. I don't need to use eyelid primer at all. It is also smudgeable when first applied, and washes off easily with soap and water. No other products needed to make it stay.

This liner definitely doesn't need powder to set, in fact I had a hard time adjusting it once it was on! It lasts a long time, too, no smearing or wearing off in the night. You can dance the night away!

These 12 hour liners set within a minute and won't smudge or wear off at all. Never leave a print on your upper lid. Eye makeup remover or lotion is what I use to take it off.

It doesn't set for a while, so you have time to correct. But honestly, these are foolproof. Very smooth and easy to apply.

I dont even have to use a primer and they set all day with no issues. You can also smudge them to or wipe it off right away before it sets if you mess up. If you wait for than 5-10 minutes I have used eye makeup remover on a qtip and it cleans up well. I use them like eye shadow and they look great!

I tell my teenagers to stay off the water line...BUT what do I know? Can be irritating...THEN I know they appreciate the eyedrops.

For me, they are a definite yes for the waterline. I don't wear eye shadow, only eye liner, and primarily on the waterline. I've tried everything, including UD, and these are the best of everything I've tried for the waterline. They don't run, and last all day. I wear eye cream, cover-up for circles, sunscreen, etc and the liner stays put. I have 7 of them!

I use these pencils on the waterline and under. The white is a sure eye brightener and black addsthat darkness to the smokey eye effect...

I don't see why they couldn't be used on the waterline. And yes, it would work as an eye brightener.

I don't remember anything about these not being waterline safe, I have used them on mine without issue (including the glitter colors) I think typically companies are supposed to say glitter products are not for the waterline, though, and it's an at your own risk kind of thing if you do use them. The white could technically be used as an eye brightener, but I prefer the beige one for that (same brand). White can be kind of stark and gives you a deer in headlights look. Something closer to your own skin tone will probably give you a more natural and perked-up look.

I put the pencil line first and sometimes add a powder over the pencil layer then blend the powder smokey. Worth the practice time to get your own style

There is a black, an olive-ish green (my fave), a purple, a champagne/pale gold type color, and a bronze one. The price is great and you could gift any you didn't like.

If you put face powder on first, yes you can use these also. Same goes for powder eye shadows. Use the shadow first then the pencil liners. I hope this helps.

I've used the liners around my lash line on my upper and lower lids. If I want a bit more drama, I add a black liquid liner over it close to the lash line. I also live in a very humid place and found this set performs well.

Yeah, hard to wash off. That's the part that sucks. It stays put forever which is great but it takes like 10 minutes to get all of it off at the end of the night.

Question
I'd like to buy these pencils, but how do you sharpen them?
I love when eyeliners are soft and smooth. Bigger is always better but there is the problem of keeping them sharpened to some degree. Is there a special sharpener you need to buy for these pencils? I am a brunette and my skin is very sensitive. I avoid the hard eyeliners since I found the nice soft crayons.

I've been using this cheap sharpener by "Beautique" and it works perfectly with these pencils. I just got a second one to use with Urban Decay lip crayons. No matter the brand, a pencil with a removable "ring" (see the dark purple plastic one in the image below) in the large sharpening hole, is most likely to work. To sharpen a wider pencil, you remove this "ring" and replace it when using a narrower pencil. I'm sure Sephora sells many such sharpeners by various brands.
