What it is:A professional, Tourmaline-infused hair dryer that delivers lightning-fast drying and healthy, beautiful results. What it does:Boost your hair health with this dryer clinically proven to retain moisture, reduce frizz, and dramatically amplify body and shine. A proprietary infusion process emits negative ions into the hair and the gentle, wide airflow delivers a greater volume of ionic infrared energy to heat the hair from the inside out. Get the job done 80 percent faster, without overdrying. Strands are left smooth, shiny, and silky soft in no time. What else you need to know:This dryer features two speeds and three heat settings to provide greater styling versatility for all hair types and styles. Weighing in at less than a small bottle of water, the dryer's state-of-the-art components are lightweight and quiet for effortless styling. The Cool Shot button provides a burst of cool air that locks in any style for a smooth, sleek finish. Research results: A test performed by a third party laboratory comparing this tool to air drying and adhering to the five properties for healthy hair as defined by the Society of Cosmetic Chemists reported the Featherweight 2: - Dries hair 64% faster than other dryers - 73% reduction in frizz - 86% increase in body - 19% increase in shine - 33% increase in comb-ability - 48% increase in style retention

Thank you. I actually returned this hair dryer. The price is a bit prohibitive for the performance and considering competing products elsewhere. Sorry. Very nice dryer - just too expensive for what I got.

It is1800 watts; however, keep in mind that the T3 Featherweight collection of dryers is not about wattage. The proprietary T3 Tourmaline SoftAire technology is about optimizing the heat and airflow to dry hair more efficiently. It's not about blasting water off the hair with as much wattage as possible. This can actually damage hair.

I don't believe so. I purchased this blowdryer after I broke mine on an international trip and was hoping to purchase a dual voltage dryer. I do not believe this one is. It's a great blowdryer, but not multi-voltage compatable.

The Featherweight Luxe 2i has a built in ion generator which generates even more negative ions. The drying time and beauty benefits (shine, frizz reduction, style retention, etc.) are a step up from the formidable Featherweight 2.

The Featherweight Luxe 2i also includes a 2.5" Tourmaline Ceramic barrel brush to help style a fantastic blowout.

I'm with you - I have found little difference between the two. The only thing that I can find is that the more expensive one does dry hair a little bit faster. I have seen comments on other sites that the $250 is a bit too heavy for people's liking - I just bought the $200 version tonight. Didn't think it was worth the extra $$.

Question
available diffuser?
I recently purchased your T3 Featherweight 2 dryer. It came with an attachment that must be a diffuser. However, its direction is very narrow. Is there a diffuser attachment for this dryer that I can purchase that is large and round?

Thank you very much.

Yes, there is a finger diffuser available for this model. Please look for the "SoftTouch 2". Do NOT purchase the "SoftTouch" as this was designed for the previous Featherweight model and will not be compatible with the new dryer.

yeah, you can buy a diffuser for your T3... and no, a concentrator is definitely not a diffuser.

The Featherweight 2 is a quiet dryer; however, people respond differently to pitches. We recommend visiting a Sephora store to try the dryer prior to purchasing if you are concerned.

About the same as any other hairdryer. I didn't notice mine being any quieter or louder than others I've had in the past.

Question
How does this compare to the original Featherweight?
My Featherweight just died after 5 years of almost every day use.. I'm talking sparks flying out at my head - now the dryer doesn't heat up properly!

I'm a little heart broken because I LOVED that hair dryer! How does this one compare to the original? What has been changed/improved in this model?

I upgraded to this model when I didn't really need to. I've had three T3 hairdryers over the years and this was my last one that was returned. I suspect that I got a bad dryer but I can't be sure. All I can say is ater about 3 weeks of use it was not blowing out hot air as it was on day 1. I ended up returning this and paying the additional $50 for the GHD air. I recommend that one rather than going to this one. But you could always try it out thanks to Sephora's return policy.

I purchased mine from Sephora in 2009, and it has a 2 year warranty through T3. Mine just stopped working this week, and it now no longer covered through warranty. I will be purchasing a new hairdryer, and it won't be a t3.

Question
Wattage
Why do T3 products never list the wattage??? What is the wattage on this dryer?

answer 1
T3 prefers not to list the wattage because our dryers work differently. More wattage does not equal better performance. In fact, our Featherweight dryers are designed with proprietary Tourmaline SoftAire technology to dry hair gently and more quickly using less wattage. Traditional dryers rely on wattage to blast water off the hair but this can lead to uneven drying, frizz and overall damage. However, since you asked, this dryer is 1800W.
