How many (#) looks are on the 'get the look' cards?

I'm not very creative when it comes to make up. I like to use the 'get the look cards' and sadly rarely use any of the other shadows because I don't know what to do with them haha. If you have found any good combinations within this palette, please comment your findings as well!

There are 4 cards for different skill levels. They recommend colors in the palette to use but once you get the idea of the application technique you can experiment with different colors.

There are 4 cards included with the set. I liked the cards, except for the "Pro" look. You could ask a sales associate at Sephora to suggest a couple of looks for the palette. I use Pastel, Amethyst, and Orchid to make a purple smokey eye. You could also use a grey on your lid, and then use Nocturnal on the outer edge of your eye.

there's 4 cards. one for beginners, intermediate, advanced & pro.
you can pretty much substitute any of the eyelid colors for any of the other colors. it's a really good palette.

There are four cards/looks. At first I was disappointed in the color combinations. The looks are fairly neutral. But once I started playing around with different colors using the same directions, I was very impressed.

This palette seems a little silly to have, especially since Sephora has Smashbox's Fall Master Class palette that has many more shadows, brow powders, glosses, blushes, etc for only $20 more....Merchandise planning fail...

I thought about the master palette but I couldn't get past the price and the fact that I don't use blush very much, already have a great Smashbox eyebrow pencil, the lip glosses weren't portable, and I most likely wouldn't use the highlighters either. So this one is really perfect - let's me use a variety of shadows and try 4 eyeliners for a more reasonable price. Love the mirror and the how to cards as I have a hard time creating a look I like without a lot of work. This will speed up my routine. I can play with the colors on the weekends to try new looks. I wish all palettes had "how to" instructions since I'll bet a lot of young ladies by palettes to try out all the colors. I think it was smart of them to create two - especially since they don't share colors. Why not get both? (if you can afford it).

I own and adore the first, bigger palette, but I find I'm really only using the eyeshadows. If both had been available at the same time, I might have chosen this one... I'm sure it is the same excellent Smashbox quality. But I hear what you're saying!
