it doesn't compare to anything in my opinion which makes it so special and well loved by me. It is floral but not in the usual "rose"-y and fresh but with some deeper notes.

I'd suggest Marchesa and Narciso Rodriguez (I, too, like Oh Lola & Coach).

My perfumes run the gamut and I agree with the response of an earlier answer in that Marchesa reminds me of Jessica McClintock. In fact, when I first tried both fragrances, I thought I was going to dislike them. This is definitely one of those fragrances that gets better with time.

I also love DKNY delicious night (purple apple shaped container). I also find it tough to keep smelling the Marchesa scent on me. I mist it and put it on pulse points. Also, layering with the body lotion helps it last longer.

Sorry, but this perfume is nothing like the scents you listed. I wanted to love it myself, but it is just not great.

Have you tried Vera Wang's Lovestruck? It seems like it would be a good fit for someone who likes the fragrances you listed.

Marchesa perfume is a very strong floral scent. I tried it over the weekend. I really did not like. It honestly smells like the floral scent added to scented female products. And very strongly like that. I was disappointed.

Question
Are there any little tricks I could do to make the scent last longer? What's the best way to apply anyway, mist or wrists?
This smells wonderful, for about half an hour. Are there any easy tricks that will help make a fragrance have better staying power? Like rubbing a little baby oil on your wrists first? (I just made that up, I no idea if that would work or has scientific merit.)

While I'm at it, which is considered the better way to wear perfume: misting it on, so it settles on your hair and clothes, too, or concentrating it on your neck, wrists, and behind the knees? I've heard both ways my whole life, but imagine one must be better for maximum staying power and effect.

I think the best way is to mist it. That way it gets all over you.

And my little cousin actually taught me this trick on making perfume last longer. Apply it right after you get out the shower when you're not completely dry.

Purchase the roller ball! I love roller balls because it gives the fragrance great staying power when used on pulse points. I also love to be able to toss it in my bag for a touch up at the end of the day! I usually spray perfume before getting dressed because I don't want the scent lingering on clothing, it also seems to make the scent diminish faster.

Misting is for overall smell- but you can add concentrated smell on your chemistry/pulse points such as wrists, forearm, behind the ear, base of throat and knee pits . I personally love where the hairline meets my upper back neck- when I was 14-- I saw Lauren Becall do it on How to MArry a Millionaire- Ive done it ever since- great for your own smell and if someone hugs you etc.
Pulse points are good they are like a mini perfume enhancer when you heart beats :)

From the experts they say to wear it over lotion. Also spray around the bosom area cause you tend to expel heat there. Therefore bringing more of the scent out. Hope this helps!

answer 5
No, don't add baby oil. That would change the smell. I find that when I spray one wrist then rub the other wrist on top, it stays. Also, I use all the pulse points and a one half squirt into my hair. All day scent without smelling like you marinated in it!

Layer the scent. Just a spritz won't hold, but a spritz plus lotion (layer unscented beneath if you don't have this scent) will do better. Also, wrists don't last because we wash the scent off when we wash our hands. I'm short, so I've taken to putting a little on the back of my neck.

To make my scent stay longer, I usually use a good lotion or oil to trap the scent and it stays longer on me.

Moisturizer is the best thing to use before putting on a fragrance. That way, the skin holds on to the oils in the perfume longer, making the scent last longer. I try to look for products that have a line, like soap, moisturizer, deodorant ( Donna Karan's Kashmire Mist has a full line of body products) and this will layer the scent onto your skin. When one fades, the next steps in, so to speak.

Question
How strong is the ambrox in this scent?
I like all the other notes listed. However the ambrox can be extremely synthetic, overpowering, cheap and taint the fragrance. Has anyone noticed this about this fragrance. I don't like old lady scents. The amber based ones tend to smell very cheap to me and being around numerous people on a daily basis, there are very few women or men who can truly pull it off. Feed back please!

It reminds me of an old, old perfume called Tea Rose. I think it's heavy on the rose notes. Also, the scent does not linger. If you spray it on at 7 am, it's gone by 9 am.

I actually went through the different perfumes over at my Sephora for the last few days trying to find something comparable - I was helping a friend choose her signature scent, and she loved the Marchesa as much as I do. There's a very heady, woody undertone to it, like Gucci Intense (it might've been Guilty), but not quite; and there's something SIMILAR to it in the Chloe Chloe Eau de Parfum, but Chloe is MUCH more different. While to some noses it 'fades' over time, the scent actually lightens, then matures, and different notes become more noticeable over time. It's strong, but delicate, so you have to tell yourself not to reapply it when you think it 'fades', or it'll be overpowering in about an hour. The product was released online before any of the stores around her got it at the counter, so it's a good idea to be patient and just wait for it to come to yours! It's definitely my favorite scent at Sephora right now.

Unfortunately, no. But I would suggest purchasing the roller ball! The fragrance has more staying power in the roller ball form when used on pulse points, at least in my experience! But the bottle is so pretty and hard to part with!

I don't think you can refill the one oz. But they do sell a small bottle with a funnel and a refill. Its a good price for .75 oz. and you can carry the small bottle in your purse if you want to reapply again and again.
