Algenist Triple-Action Micropolish & Peel

What it is:An advanced microdermabrasion peel that resurfaces the look of skin texture and tone. What it is formulated to do:This microdermabrasion peel contains a 10 percent acid duo (patent-pending Alguronic Acid and glycolic acid) in a potent combination with a 10 percent fruit enzyme complex and micro-polishing crystals to immediately transform the look of skin texture and tone. The acid duo and fruit enzyme complex help dissolve surface skin-dulling cells to reveal skin that looks more even and smooth. As surface cell turnover is supported, the active formula exfoliates and resurfaces, correcting skin imperfections and instantly improving texture and tone for smoother, brighter, more radiant skin. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates- Phthalates What else you need to know:Alguronic Acid is a powerful compound responsible for protecting the microalgae cell. This unique ingredient was unexpectedly discovered by a team of biotechnology scientists in San Francisco while researching microalgae for renewable energy solutions. When scientifically tested, Alguronic Acid demonstrated significant antiaging properties: supporting natural elastin synthesis and natural surface cellular regeneration. Algenist is the only line of skin care products to contain the antiaging power of Alguronic Acid. This product is for all skin types. It is dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic, non-irritating, non-comedogenic, and not tested on animals.

Not strong at all, you can barely tell it's much of anything, very disappointing.

No, it isn't strong. I recommend Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare
Alpha Beta® Peel Extra Strength Formula. Those work great! Very strong that I could only use once daily at night time.

Yes. you can control how much you want to exfoliate by the amount of time you scrub you face with the product on. I scrub a little both before and after the 5 minute waiting period. Very good result.

Question
bad idea to use this product on active breakouts? and will it cause a breakout?
i know it's hard to tell if a product is going to cause a breakout because everyone reacts differently and has different skin types, but i was wondering if this is the sort of product that is likely to make you break out. and i was also wondering if it's a bad idea to use this on an active breakout. i have some tiny bumps on my forehead and cheeks, i'm not sure what caused them, and i was hoping this product might help. thanks so much for any advice.

My skin was uneven and breakout prone when I started using this and it really helped clear away a lot of smaller blemishes and bumps, and now I never breakout. Get a sample at your store and have the associate give you directions. it's AWESOME.

My experience has been that it is very gentle - no breakouts. The granules are small and not really rough, so using it on an existing breakout should be ok. The peel will help rid that dead top layer of skin and expedite healing.

Everybody's skin is different but I did use it on my acne & it dried my acne up. The key is to not let it stay on your skin too long. (5 mins.)

Glycolic Acid is the second ingredient listed and the jar says "Results comparable to 30% glycolic facial treatment" but they don't actually say how much is in there. I also couldn't find the pH level which is an important factor for absorbency.
