I live in Texas and I have pretty dark, thick, curly hair. It's often frizzy if I don't put some product in it to get it to stop. I use the John Freeda Frizz Ease gel. I put it in my hair after I get out of the shower and it works wonderfully. Now some products such as hair gels, moose or sprays have de-frizz solution in them. Be sure not to double up or your hair can be oily. I think that's what happened to me today. I used the Frizz Ease then I used the Carol's Daughter Pudding on my hair and I look like a slicked back wet mop. It's kinda gross. DON'T USE THEM TOGETHER!!

It works in Atlanta. The combination of the leave-in moisture and pudding is great. I use the whole line - because fundamentally I believe the frizz factor starts from the shampoo and builds. I also deep shampoo and condition once a week with the Monoi.

I think this product smells wonderful, it's not too overpowering and I'm pretty sensitive when it comes to smells. Smells clean but once it's in your hair it's not noticeable, I do have thick hair so that might make a difference.

Fortunately, not much! It has a faint "plastic"-like odor that fades away as my hair dries. I am sensitive to stinky hair (especially coconut smelling hair products! yuck!) I'll be honest, the Marguerite's Magic hairdress is stinky. It smells like cinnamon and does NOT go away, I smell it all day long even after my hair is dry. Another reason I love the pudding.

It has a lemon-y smell to me. Some people like it, some say it reminds them of Pine Sol. Some people even say it triggers migraines. It smells just like the Hair Milk, if you've ever tried that.

Will this styling pudding be effective when applied after a leave-in conditioner?

My daughter has Type 4A hair (from what I've researched), and she uses "Mixed Chicks" Leave-In conditioner. The leave-in does moisturize her hair, and it is "ok" at keeping her curls defined. However, she is an active 8 year old, so there's a big, frizzy difference from before school and after school.
Not looking for a miracle, but I'd like a styling product that will give her more hold without flaking and drying. Gels applied to a leave-in conditioner always flake, and become less effective.
