Questions & Answers for bareMinerals Precision Face Retractable Brush

Question
what is the best way to clean this brush?

I like the Bare Minerals brush cleaner. I put a dime to quarter size amount in my already wet palm then swirl the brush. Rinse in warm water and repeat as necessary until the brush is clean. When you feel it is clean enough, squeeze the excess water out with a towel, then lay on a towel to dry. Give it about a full day to dry though.

Makeup brush cleaners work great. I used to use a baby shampoo but I think brush cleaner works best.

Question
Brush
i am looking for a firm, dense brush that will give good coverage. I currently use the NARS botan brush, but looking for a travel version. I don't like super soft brushes (ie. a brush that spreads open when you push down on the bristles). I prefer a firm head. Does this brush provide that type of coverage?

This is a VERY soft brush. I wouldn't buy it if I were looking for something firm.

The brush is rather soft and bends easily. Also, while its portable and small, its cheap and mine is already breaking after 3 weeks of use.

Question
Other brushes from Bare Minerals "shed", does this one?

For a while, yes. This brush sheds a lot at first. After a few washes, though, the shedding stops. A few bristles will always fall out here and there though. I have used a ton of different brushes and that's pretty standard. I also like the Sephora line of brushes. I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of those brushes compared to the Bare Minerals brushes.
