Refillable?
Other Tarte palettes are listed as refillable (though, oddly, it appears the eyeshadows aren't sold in individual squares). Is this palette refillable

I don't think it is meant to be refillable.

Maybe. I know many people are 'depotting' products and putting them into their own personalized palettes, but I haven't tried that yet. Each shadow and blush is in it's own tin, separate from the case itself, so my guess is, if you know how, you can pull the colors out.

This palette does not appear to be refillable - there is no mention of that feature on the packaging and no sign of the pans being removable. I can't tell if the makeup tray could be pried out to create a reusable clutch afterward.

Question
Are the eye shadows on the right warm or cool?
Can someone who has seen this IRL comment on the 2 eye shadows on the far right of the palette? On the Tarte site, they look like a greyish-taupe and a blueish-purple. However on Sephora, they look like a brownish-taupe and a reddish-purple.

The brown shadow ('canopy') is a deep brown, very warm and chocolatey.
The purple shadow ('tribal') is blueish-black purple (a cool tone).

Both are beautiful! I wear every color in the set (on different occasions) and have brown eyes, brown hair, and medium-neutral skin coloring.

All of the eyeshadow colors appear either neutral or cool toned. The middle color in the bottom row is an olive green and might be the closest to a warm shade, but is still rather neutral when applied.

answer 4
They are warm toned. The brown is a medium muted taupe, with more brown than gray. The purple is less purple than it looks in the pan. When swatched, it looks grayish-black with a purple tint. That's the best I can describe it ... like a murky purple.

Nope...just wonderful powder shadows and blush. They are really great, I'd recommend trying them. If you use the cream shadows you already have as a base, you can combine these to make different effects, and the creams work well as a primer, too! (Though I am completely addicted to Tarte's eye shadow primer)

answer 3
While I don't have this specific palette, I do have others in the Amazonian clay line from Tarte. They are not waterproof. They are, however, longer wearing. Their blushes are my favorite of any I've used. I don't have to reapply throughout the day; only if I'm going out after a long day do I sometimes touch it up. I like the eyeshadows too, but they aren't waterproof. I usually wear a natural look for my eye makeup, so perhaps someone else could speak for the longevity of the bolder/darker shades.

Question
How does this compare to the Lorac Pro to Go palette?
I'd just like to know if anyone has used this and/or the Lorac Pro to Go eye and cheek palette. Which one is better? Longer lasting? Colours? Portability?

Thanks!

I personally do not like lorac pro ... the eyeshadows are pigmeneted and smooth, but they feel muddy to me and i didnt like it all. ofcourse the lorac pro palette is much more versitile than this one. you can crease tons of looks with the lorac pro but this one its kind of one or two different looks really. BUT!!! I LOVE tartes eyeshadow qualiity they always look soooo smooth simple
you get more for you money with lorac pro though

I don't know if I would directly compare them. They are both very portable. You get a bit more product with the tarte palette and a larger mirror. Further, you get a purple shade which adds a bit to more looks that only neutral. Lastly the pro palette has a bronze shade. I really love the tarte one.

Lorac Pro has numerous eyeshadow selections and a balance of shimmer and matte. Everyone raves over Lorac Pro. Tarte clay eye and check has 6 eyeshadows and 2 blushes. Eyeshadows more matte than shimmer. Some of the colors have some shimmer, however. Not quite as shimmery as Lorac, I find. Tarte case, good for travel. It's like a wallet...size of a wallet. A bit bulky. The Lorac case is long and thinner, sort of like UD palette size. Tarte perk, min to no fallout! You can achieve day or night look with Lorac. Tarte, more day wear, but I think can be versatile...it includes a deep purple. Once applied looks purple/black. In my opinion, this color creates increased intensity, that bold pop of color. Tarte's eyeshadow is pigmented, lasting and very smooth. Some of the Lorac shadows seem more chalky to me and not as good in quality, overall. The blushes in the tarte palette are strongly pigmented...use a light hand, then build to your liking. Lorac, lots of variety in color choices and looks. If you like a lot of shimmer, Lorac provides many shimmers. I personally prefer the tarte palette and the quality. You get less shades in tarte, but generous size eyeshadows.

I have the same coloring (and love this palette). A tip I heard from a make-up artist: if your eye shadows are in warm tones, then cheeks and lips should be in cool tones (pinks); if you use cool tones on your eyes (like the purple in this set), then cheeks and lips should be in warm tones (corals). It gives balance to your look rather than overdoing your face in warms or cool tones alone.

I love Tarte's Lipsurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in Exposed with this palette. I also use Tarte's Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick in Pure, and a few other products you can find at Sephora (Bite's Honey Lip Lacquer in Gamay, and Bite's Lipshine in Vintage. This palette is fairly neutral, so really, most of your favorite colors should work well. :-)
