Suitable for tweens?
My goddaughter is now 12 years old, and for her birthday, she recieved a $30 gift card for Sephora, and she told me that she needs help figuring out what to buy that her mother would find somewhat "appropriate" , but she doesn't want nail polish... I was wondering if this product or any other products that you have would be suitable for her. Keep in mind she is 12 years old, her gift card is worth $30 (I can add more $ if its more than $30) , she has a medium skintone, her eyes are brown, and she has long straight brown hair.

on How To Look The Best At Everything
I'm fourteen and this looks completely appropriate. It looks completely natural, and sometimes I forget I'm wearing it. There is a certain way to put each product on, but the kit includes very easy, understandable directions.

Tweens are reaching an age where they need a good concealer for blemishes - the coversticks sold in drugstores are dreadful. Too greasy for a tween/teen's typically oily skin. Powder is also good to set a concealer and help it look natural. As a former makeup artist, I would not recommend foundation for a teenager, as the youthful glow of young skin is the most beautiful look possible. Leave it 'naked' and only spot-correct where needed. The pore minimizer is a good product if she has large pores, but she will need (I find, in my experience) to be scrupulously careful with cleaning her skin at night to avoid clogged pores with this product. If your granddaughter wants makeup rather than skincare, a concealer and powder are a great idea, but really good skincare is a terrific helper for tweens/teens at the time when their skin is becoming prone to blemishes. Sephora has some excellent products.

It could be, but unless she really needs foundation, concealer, primer and powder- I wouldn't suggest the kit. I would maybe see if she can find a roll-on perfume she likes or even a lip gloss that is slightly tinted. But if she has nice skin (which most young ladies do), I would not urge her to cover it up.
For a 12 yr old, I think this might be a bit too much. It's light-feeling, yes, but probably too much for someone so young. Try perfume, lipgloss, etc :)
Maybe she can get the bene-kit that has the lip gloss and blush instead. I don't recommend wearing powder or foundation at an age of 12, the prettiest thing she can wear is natural.

The kit is great but she might be a little disappointed that it doesn't have any color. My opinion - look for a set or assortment with a little blush and eyeshadow. Just don't get vivid colors - stay with natural, beige & pink tones that are light in color. A kit with nail polish and a neutral gloss would be a plus. If it's possible, you should bring her to a Sephora store. The associates are buzzing around ready to offer advice. She can sample anything AND they'll show her how to put on the make-up. TRUST ME - I have a daughter that's 20 now - it took years for her to learn (of course she didn't want me to teach her). Hope this helps!!

Yes, I think this is suitable for tweens if they have prior knowledge of applying makeup. If this is her first makeup ever I would suggest trying drug store because it'll be better for your money, and I wasn't too pleased with this product.
This products in this set may offer a little too much coverage for a 12 year. We recommend trying Benefit's Feelin' Dandy Lip & Cheek Kit>http://bit.ly/1mfvnP4. This set has some very lightweight products that would be flattering for her skin tone.
