Definitely NOT French Riviera!

I bought the trio because I wanted some more purple shades to add to my collection of makeup, and between the picture and the assurances from a couple other customers, i believed the shades to be in the purple family. They're not, they are shimmery gold and browns. If you're interested, I posted a longer rant about it under reviews, lol.

I'm an artist, and also a makeup artist. Trust me, French Riviera is not in the purple family.

Rome isn't purple at all - it has a shimmery pink shade (Kitten), a tarnished bronze with hint of olive (Golightly), and ashy dark brown (Java). French Riviera is the purple toned trio. That one also has Kitten, as well as a shimmery light purple with hint of taupe/gray (Grace), and a rich purple-y brown (Mahogany). Hope that helps!

French Riviera is in the purple family, the middle shade is a medium purple and the one on the far right is a very deep plum purple. I have it and the colors are gorgeous and great if you're looking for purples.

Both trios I purchased are made up of two shimmery shadows and one matte. Rome has Kitten (shimmery champagne), Golightly (shimmery light bronze) and Java (matte deep deep brown). French Riviera has Kitten, Grace (shimmery nude) and Mahogany (matte wine).

The Cape Town trio would look beautiful with tour hair and eyes. It has Oasis, a golden color with slight hints of peach, Sparkle, a medium antique bronze, and La Douce, an olive green. All of them are shimmery, yet not overwhelming. The Rome trio would look great, too! That has Kitten, which is a frosty pink, not my favorite, but it also has Golightly, a tarnished bronze with a hint of olive, and Java, a slightly ashy dark brown that works great as a crease contouring shade as well as eyeliner.

The Cape Town trio includes: Oasis (shimmery gold with a hint of peach - I'd say it's very similar to Urban Decay's Half Baked or Baked...can't remember which), Sparkle (shimmery antique medium bronze/gold) and La Douce (shimmery olive green). They're all great quality and the colors go so well together. I definitely recommend. :) For reference, I have dark brown hair and eyes and light golden olive skin. These shades would also look great on hazel eyes, and Sparkle would also look amazing on green and blue eyes!

I spoke to Sephora representative on the phone a couple days ago (I want the Rome set too!) and she said that because the sets are a limited edition product there is no guarantee that it will ever come back in stock, unless Stila decides otherwise.

Yes, in fact the product comes with the case and then each of the three eyeshadows in separate plastic casings, so you have to take them out and put them into the 3-pan palette (no reason you couldn't insert them into a bigger palette instead).

Yes they are! They have the magnet so you just pop it in. Plus, it has a great mirror the full length of the compact.
