I went to a sephora store to take a look at the kit
however there were only bareMinerals® Get Started® Kit 9-piece set instead of the 10-piece one.
Also the deluxe travel bag was excluded from the kit.

So both of the foundations are the same color, it's just that one is matte and one is a tiny bit shimmery (so they say. I haven't noticed a huge difference between the two, honestly.)

The touch-up veil in the compact is a pressed, not loose, powder. Its purpose is to provide extra coverage where you feel that your skin is going to get greasy throughout the day. It is not a multidimensional color like the normal veil is, so it certainly isn't a substitute. Hope this helps.

Mineral Veil is loose and Touch Up Veil is pressed in a compact, that's pretty much the only difference. The new Ready products may have more skin care properties than the loose versions, other than that they should be very similar besides the form they come in.

The mineral veil is used as a finishing powder. Thats the first product I owned, and probably my favorite as I use it with any makeup I wear, even prior to buying the bareMinerals set. It doesnt have any color in it though so it wont act as a foundation. Just gives an even finish and oil protection. The foundation would put an even tone to your skin and cover any imperfections prior to applying the mineral veil. I hope this helps!

This will be my first time purchasing bare minerals. All of my friends have raved about it, but I'm not quite sure on which color to choose. There are so many options. My skin tone and color can vary from golden brown to red undertones. I want to know if I choose the wrong color can I exchange the kit for a different one?

Your best bet is to find a store that carries the Bare Minerals line and get color matched. Then you will know for certain what your shade should be. The great thing about Bare Minerals is that when they put out these kits, there are always several options of the foundation colors to choose from. Hope this helps. Golden Tan is for Tan skin with yellow / olive undertones. If you are darker, Golden Deep would be the next shade, but that is pretty dark I think.
