No. You use acetone to remove the polish, which does not work with acrylic or gel nails.

I believe you get approximately 20 manicures if you use 3 coats each time. I only use 2 so I can get more out. May not seem like a lot for the money, but if you think about the fact that each manicure lasts 2+ weeks, each bottle will give you 40+ weeks of manicures. That's almost an entire year of consistent use!

Well it comes with a bottle of the base coat, top coat, and you get a free gelshine color, so whenever you run out of those, you can just get new ones.

Curing time - need longer time?
This is my first time using the Gel System. My nails did not seem to cure -- they are still tacky. Is that normal? Should I continue using the light until they seem dry?

Hi - the tacky finish is removed when you use the nail cleaner (the last step). I've been thrilled with the end result. Hope this helps.

Your nails are going to be tacky, even after curing, until you use the nail cleanser as the last step. The cleanser removes the tackiness after they're cured, and then they should be smooth and dry.

Question
sticky after curing?
The polish felt sticky after curing the base coat, color, and final coat. It only felt dry after using the cleaning spray. Is that expected or does that mean I was putting on too thick or coat or doing something else wrong?

You did it right. It's weird, and I don't know why it is, but he cleaning spray makes it right and done!

You are missing the last step! You need to spray your nails down with the small bottle of isopropyl alcohol. It seems like an unnecessary step but your nails will be tacky until you wipe them with the alcohol that's included.

Yes this is normal. I made the mistake and thought that my nails were still wet and wasted a tone of time curing over and over again. It's actually a residue left on the nails. Once you complete the final step of cleaning the finished nail with the provided pads and cleaner as instructed, this residue will be gone and you will be left with a shiny, smooth finished manicure that lasts and lasts.

I am on my third manicure with the kit, using about 5 weeks now and using the same bottle of High Maintenance and there's still plenty left. I'm definitely getting more use out of this polish than typical nail polishes because my manis are lasting so much longer.

30 seconds usually does the trick. A special note: dark colors may require a few times under the lamp. Also, be aware that the polish will still feel 'tacky' after proper application and curing. Just wipe with provided pads and cleaner to remove sticky residue.

The gel polish that cures makes your nails seem harder, stronger. It's not a nail hardener but it will keep them from breaking better than a regular hardener.

No nail hardener, just base, color and top coat.
