Question
why are so many pumps required?
why are so many pumps per wash required for this product? im contemplating buying it, but dont feel like being ripped off and kind of see the directions of "10-15 pumps" as a way to perpetuate excess, aka get customers ripped off. thoughts? does anyone actually use 10-15 pumps? anyone use less and notice good results?

I have hair that goes down half way on my back. The first two times I used 12 pumps, but now I use 9 . I find I start off with 7 and if its not enough I try one more at a time. I wash my hair now every 4 days, it doesn't get dirty like before. After almost 2 months I am still on the trial box of wen. I love this stuff. Well worth the money.

That was one of the issues that made me hesitant to even try WEN. If I had to use that much I'd never be able to afford it. I have relatively short (below chin but above shoulder) length hair, that is on the thin side. I use one generous pump each for the top, back and each side, message them in as directed, pull it through and let it sit for about five minutes before rinsing. I then use a small pump as a leave in then spray with the mist before styling. This has worked beautifully for me, I love the products amd they are lasting a long time. If you have longer or thicker hair you might need more than me, but the recommended amounts are ridiculous in my opinion.

Question
How do you get the conditioner pump to pop?
I just got my Wen hair kit today, but I haven't been able to use it because I can't get the pump that came with the bottle to pop up. I feel so silly, because I've been twisting it around and around like other pumps, but it won't open! Is mine just defective, or am I doing something wrong?

Just keep trying, it will pop, I had a hard time too. It does pop up like you would think. I pulled on mine after twisting and twisting it. It took a bit of time.

Make sure you are twisting it correctly and pull up slightly, it pops easily then!

that happened with one of my pumps before too but I had another one laying around so I just took a pump from an empty bottle. The conditioner is so good, you could just dump it into your hand, the products still good. would be a shame to have to waste it, I would prob move it into a empty body butter jar.

Question
It says "Conditioner", but is it also a shampoo?
Does the one bottle of 'conditioner' do everything? Or do I need to buy a separate shampoo as well?

The one bottle is called conditioner yet it does everything. This one bottle takes the place of separate shampoo and separate conditioner. I have frizzy curly dry damaged hair and this has made my hair feel smooth and soft. I use it only twice per week, but you can also use it every day. My curls stay nice for days.

Instructions say to comb through while conditioning, this works well. I do not comb my wet hair again after I'm through and when styling.

The one bottle of conditioner does everything! You won't believe how your hair feels! Butter soft! That one bottle has replaced my shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, and leave in conditioner. It does it all! I have mid-back length relaxed hair.

No you don't need to buy shampoo. The product is basically a all in one product. You apply it at first as if its shampoo then you let it soak up in your hair as a conditioner

This is made for every hair. Your hair absorbs the amount of moisture it needs from this. It really is universal. I thought I was going to have to cut my highlighted blonde hair it was so damaged, but now it looks like glass. amazing! just use it correctly. It seems like to many pumps but it is not.

Yes!!! This product is perfect for color hair. It does not have any sulfates in it. So it does not strip the color out of your hair and it help boost the color in your hair so it does not look faded or brassy.

No, it does not cause hair loss. I was concerned after reading other comments about hair loss on line. I have found no change, no increase in hair loss since I started using Wen. I really like it and will keep on using it.

I think all the scalp massaging loosens hairs you would have lost brushing and such, I don't think you are "loosing" your hair. This might seem alarming because it's happening all at once, but there's no abnormal hair loss happening or they wouldn't be able to sell it.

Question
Fine hair, oily scalp, dry ends
I have very fine hair, oily scalp with dryer/brittle ends from coloring/styling my hair. I wash my hair daily and have tried dry shampoos if I go one day without shampooing/conditioning; however my hair still appears limp and dirty when I use these. Will this be too heavy for my fine hair or make it appear greasy, oily?

You should just apply the product to the midshaft of your hair. I too, have split and dry ends and just applying Wen to the midshaft seems to help a lot.
At first I was applying the product on the scalp and massaging, as the instructions stated. Doing that made my hair look greasy, but now that I'm just applying it to the midshaft of my hair and it looks and feels great!

No, it will not make your scalp or roots greasy. It's so gently but cleanses really well. I have the same hair, but only wash my hair every-other day. I love Wen's Re Moist Intensive Hair Mask (not the Treatment-the Mask) for my dry ends, which have also seen better days due to bleaching. I have a hard time find the Mask, but I'm searching and plan to stock up. I use the cleanser all over and then put the mask on my ends. When I can leave it on for an hour or more, it transforms the texture and sheen of my hair,

The sweet almond mint is formulated for all har types, esp. those with fine or medium hair. Personally, i'd wait until the other formulations comes out as the cucumber aloe is clarifying and best for oily scalps. When it comes out in stores, you can always try a sample!

The conditioner is the shampoo. That is what you use. I use the mask first, in the small round container, then the cleansing conditioner , then the spray. It's awesome

Theoretically you're supposed to use 16 pumps or more of this and massage it in as a shampoo and conditioner. But if you have thin, fine, or uncolored hair it's best not to use conditioner above her ears, so as expected it weighs it down and makes it greasy. I had to use shampoo and then use this as the conditioner.

The package I purchased included a shampoo, a deep cleanser, and a conditioning spray. I have used it for over a week now and love it. You just use the shampoo and after using you'll see you don't require a conditioner.

My hair is what you describe yours as. With each kid, I lost more and more hair and it became thinner and thinner. The fortunate thing is that the hair I lose does grow back but since using Wen, it no longer falls out. To also add in regards to the deep conditioning treatment, the packaging or Wen website doesn't say this, but you can do the treatment overnight wearing a shower cap to bed - you do still have to rinse out the next morning. Hope this helps!!

I typically have a lot of shedding and I have not noticed that it cuts down on that. However, it definitely helps with breakage due to dryness. It is very moisturizing so if you need something light to add volume to thin hair it may not be the best. I have thick, dry hair and I like it for the nourishment.
