It has a delicious vanilla smell, like an oatmeal cookie.

The product smells lightly sweet. Like cookie dough and cinnamon but not very strong. There are other reviews that also describe the mask as sweet smelling. It reminds me of a MUCH lighter version of Philosophy's Cinnamon Buns body wash.

This mask doesn't have a smell to it. Its for sensitive skin, so no excess perfume or anything like that. Just a great exfoliating mask.

I would actually say it has a really light, really pleasant smell (a natural smell from the ingredients, not a perfume) I actually think it smells less like oatmeal and more like a cake batter-y sort of smell. But again, not artificial cakebatter scented, just a barely sweet, barely noticeable natural smell. I love that about it.

Actually the smell is pretty light. It has Shea butter too so it's naturally scented. I'd describe it as a the most subtle oatmeal cookie treat.

Question
Is this mask clear?
I want to find a good mask that doesn't have color or texture because I fly a lot, and I love putting masks on the plane. :)

it's kind of whitish w/oatmeal "bits"/"chunks", gets more clear after sitting but you still have the oatmeal that you can see...not sure if i'd put it on during a flight, unless the the oatmeal doesn't bother you ;) LOL

This mask is not clear. It has a cream color to it. Also, wouldn't recommend using this ion the plane because it does have oatmeal pieces in it. Hope this helps. Safe flying :)

This mask is not clear. It is like a creamy off white with small bits of oatmeal in it. I would NOT suggest doing this on a plane.

the mask is relatively clear but it has flecks of oatmeal in it so if you were to pick those off (not too many) that might do you well. I would recommend Khiel's intense hydration lotion and apply a thick coat of it or Avede Tourmaline charged creme for in flight. I am flying as we speak and am using the Khiel's.

Question
use after a peel?
I'm looking for a moisturizing mask to use after an at-home peel. My middle-aged skin needs the exfoliation from the peels, but they dry out my skin. Would this work? Any suggestions?

The oatmeal mask is not hydrating at all, made my skin drier.
I love the Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Mask, it's very hydrating and also has Hyaluronic Acid wich helps to restore the skin's water reserves.

I use this with Retin-A and it is the ONLY product that has gotten rid of my flaking and dry spots. I use it as a mask but sometimes apply a thin layer and leave it on like a moisturizer.

Definitely works. I use First-Aid's red clay peeling mask and I use this oatmeal one right after it. It smells good and it's gentle, not oily.

Question
Is this safe for people with rosacea?
I have extremely dry, sensitive skin plus rosacea, yay me. I have tried so many products to help keep moisture in my skin. I've been warned about masks for people who have this condition, but heard that oatmeal masks are probably safe. I just look and feel dry all the time and makeup just intensifies how dry I look.

I check all the ingredients in a product diligently before I purchase it since I have sensitive skin as well with dry patches. I tend to stick with mostly natural and organic products and the First Aid Beauty line proves to be ok in terms of ingredients. Its hard to say how your skin would react to a specific product but mine loves this. Try the sample size first- you'll likely get about 4 uses out of it. If it does aggravate your skin, just try mixing some coconut oil with ground up rolled oats and apply that as a mask instead.

Sample it first. It CAN be irritating to sensitive skin (even though you wouldn't think so from the oatmeal). Even "non-irritants" can irritate sensitive skin. Sample in-store or patch test with some water at the ready. You will know immediately if it agrees with you or not. I found it drying and tightening, exactly what you don't want so please sample it first. Maybe you're just not a mask person. FAB has some good moisturizers for sensitive skin.

I'd say about 8 uses when I apply a medium layer. Probably could stretch it to 10 or 12 but I'm a little to generous.

I think this would last you several months if you use it twice a week. I alternate this product with other masks and peels, so this will last me quite a while. I use enough to cover and leave a white layer that you can still see through. Not glopped on, but not rubbed in either. It is very soothing and moisturizing. Well worth the money--go for it!

It is up to the person using it on how often they will apply it to their face. We recommend using a small portion at a time as a little goes a long way.

I would say twice weekly or every other day if your skin is particularly dry or irritated. It is very soothing and moisturizing, but not greasy or heavy. I have been using this alternately with other peels and masks--probably once a week, because my skin isn't' overly dry right now. I would not use this, personally, in the Summer, because my skin gets much more oily then.

I use it about once a week, but you could definitely use it more. Depending on how dry your skin is, I don't see a problem with using it daily if that worked best for you. It's a great product.
