Questions & Answers for Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum

Question
What kind of fragrance does this item have?
The 2 reviews here are very positive, other than 1 stating the only detraction in this product is its overpowering fragrance, which aggravated her allergies. I'd like to purchase this item, but like many other folks I too am allergic to certain odors, both natural & man-made. Some give me severe sinus headaches. Thus can someone PLEASE state the type & strength of this product's fragrance? (E.g.: "Extremely powerful rose fragrance" - - or whatever else may be the case..) Thank you!

I would describe the aroma as "fresh" and "botanical." I'm very sensitive to scents and was worried about the fragrance the first time I used the product, but am happy to report that the fragrance disappears quickly after application — especially if you're using this serum as a layer under another product.

I find the fragrance of this product to be mildly floral, slightly herbal. i like it, actually. The scent fades very quickly, especially when used under a moisturizer .

I haven't noticed any particular fragrance to the SOS product -- perhaps they got this serum mixed up with a different Caudalie product? When I went shopping for the SOS product, I had trouble tell some of the bottles apart.

If I had to pick a fragrance, I'd say it smells clean and fresh . . . basically scentless. It doesn't leave any clinging feelings after applying it either.

I do understand your allergy concern though, so the best recommendation I can come up with to protect you and yet still have you try this product is to go into your local Sephora store if possible. Explain your predicament to the employees there, and if they're anything like the really helpful and nice folks at my local store, they'll probably try to find you a sample you can experiment with or smell or both! Good luck!

I love scent, wear scent everyday, some I can't tolerate and will put me in a foul mood...like Flowerbomb. I love Fresh Rain (the fragrance). The fragrance in SOS is light and pleasing to me.

It has a slight scent immediately after applying it,robably from the grape water. It fades very quickly, however, and it hasn't been an issue at all for me.

Lol! I guess the scent is in the nose of the beholder. I honestly can't say I noticed a scent- and that's big because I have a nose like a bloodhound due to my migraines. I can't and don't buy anything heavily scented because it can trigger a migraine, so if I can use it, hopefully you can too.

From what I was given to understand- and what I know based on my regular usage of the Caudalie product line- any scent in the serum is a natural biproduct of the grapes they use. Every Caudalie product I've used is very lightly scented, usually with a botanical quality. The serum smells slightly sweet, and is not overwhelming at all, in my opnion. I usually don't even notice the scent after I put it on.

It has your typical sort of flowery perfume. I found it a bit strong the first time I used it, but now I barely notice it.
Usually, perfumes in facial products make me sneeze. But somehow, this one doesn't.
But ya: flowery, a bit spicy. Not too strong.

I do- all the time, and I have SUPER sensitive skin, especially around my eyes. They normally burn and tear up when I get anywhere near my eyes with normal skin care products but this one is brilliant- no stinging or irritation at all, and good hydration. :)

I can put it close to me eyes without irritating it.
It makes everything so smooth and plumps up my skin.
In the beginning I thought it doesn't do much for my skin except hydrating it, but since I use it for 4 weeks now, my skin is balanced, hydrated and almost free of blemishes. I never wanna be without this amazing serum next to my retin-a.

This serum is meant to be used on the face, throat and decollete, avoiding the immediate eye are as it is lightly fragranced. For the eyes, try the Vinosource SOS Eye Rescue.

Question
Confused between this and Vinoperfect Radiance
My skin is very dehydrated by I do suffer from the odd pimple. I usually have redness and tightness in my skin but I have a ton of dark spots and am prone to hyper pigmentation. Which should I go for? Or any other suggestions?

I don't think this has any affect on hyper-pigmentation, or sun spots. Having said that, I also have sensitive skin (I get rashes, irritation and breakouts using some skin care products) and I LOVE this product. It's light and hydrating and totally non-greasy, addresses my problem areas and wind-burn, leaves my skin feeling hydrated a good long period and has never caused me any irritation- even though I use it very close to my eyes. I've recommended it for friends and family with super-sensitive skin like mine and no one's ever reported a problem with it.

I actually use both of these together, I first apply the quinch thirst serum and then the vinoperfect radiance afterwards. I would recommend you to use both, as the vinoperfect radiance doesn't moisturize or hydrate as much.

OH Gosh, You just described my own skin... You MUST get this product. Those fine lines I started seeing were really just dehydration.. one month of this plus proactive wash/BP 2X per day, plus sensitive skin OXY wipe 1 time per day prior to makeup on washed face... then this serum and regular moisturizer... I have a new face.. it's been a miracle... good luck to you!! It's pricy, but the science behind Hydra Lauric Acid is there and it's more natural than other products and it doesn't clog pores/make your skin oily.

The Vinosource Serum is for hydration and soothing sensitivity. If you are looking to even skin tone and lighten dark spots, then you will want to use the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. This serum lightens dark spots, evens skin tone and give an overall radiance to the skin.

This did nothing for me in the way of lightening or color correcting. It's a nice moisture drink for the skin, and it seems good for fragile skin...say, throat, outside eye orbits, undereye...just as a bit of a pick-me-up. But I wouldn't say it did anything outside of moisturizing. Smells nice, I guess.

I think you ought to be able to layer this product -- I personally apply this first in my beauty routine, full coverage, let it absorb entirely for about half a minute, then apply a little St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin moisturizer around my eyes and mouth for extra hydration. I've got oily skin naturally, so I've very sensitive to that clingy feeling some products leave, and I haven't had any issues with that since using this Caudalie product. Good luck! Hope that helps!

I've been using tris for about a month, I'm not sure what they mean by bubble serum but it's a light serum, with the consistency like milk. Very light and hydrating not oily. It's nice, adds a little boost to your normal moisturizer or just a nice hydration on its own.
Hope that helps! I love it, try it!

The Caudalie UK website answers that question:
http://uk.caudalie.com/products-best-sellers/your-facial-needs/moisturize-soothe/s-o-s-thirst-quenching-serum.html

They say the 'bubble' means that it's continuously capturing moisture for your skin... I'm not sure how scientific the term is. I think it's just for marketing purposes. Or a bad translation.

Question
Bottle emptying fast.... Normal!? Using too much?
I have had this product for almost 2 weeks. I absolutely love it. It's incredibly hydrating without making you greasy and best of all, doesn't break me out. I use it in the AM and PM after washing my face. I use it on my face and neck and I'm already at half bottle and I haven't hit the 2 week mark yet!? Am I using too much or are others noticing this same issue? It's a lovely product but boy, the bottle empties fast!!
