i would say it will work for you 100%. this face wash actively regulates oil production so you wont get as oily through out the day. i have super oily skin and the worst thing you can do to an oily face is to strip it with a face wash and make your skin tight and squeaky(although i love that feeling) we have to avoid it. this cleanses very well leaves a bit of a squeakiness in my nose and forehead but it moisturizes at the same time so your skin is comfortable and clean.

awesome face wash :)

Hi there, I have had the same problem as you with product lines. This may also happen with this cleanser, but thus far, it has done a great job keeping my skin clear. It is definitely worth the price because each use is only a tiny bit - a little goes a long way. Good luck :)

Yes! I have had the same problem with my skin adapting to products and then the products losing effectiveness. But not with PTR. I've been using it for more than four years and it even got me through a pregnancy with clear skin. I also use PTR AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel daily on my trouble spots (a little bit goes a long way).

This system has kept my skin clear/clearer for years. Once every couple of years I'll want to try something new, something catches my eye, and I am always sorry and kick myself and go right back to this system. All my friends say, you still use that wash after all of these years?? Yep.

So far so good!!!! I started with the cleanser and after about a week I added the Glycolic hydrator at night. Then after another week I added the Glycolic moisturizer. Couldn't be happier and I'm very picky!!! Nothing works well for me or at first it workds and then seems to stop working after a week or two. I'm sticking with this one.

Philosophy is a much more gentle product than this wash. If you have extremely oily acne prone skin. (I mean EXTREMELY OILY) then give this product a go! If you have combination/dry skin... do NOT use this product. You will regret it.

Hi there! I am a lover of Philosophy, but their facial products do not agree with me. This cleanser, however, is AMAZING. Try it and I would bet that you will love it. It only takes a tiny bit to wash your face so it lasts forever and is therefore very reasonable.

I haven't used philosophy products. I have used this system for years and I have very oily skin with moderate break-outs, which are completely under control. I did use the conditioning tonic also, but they discontinued that. I use the oil free lotion and the powder sunblock. I highly recommend this system.

I used Philiosophy Congested skin kit and Acne products for about 2 years and really liked them. Then Philisophy moved to On a clear day- I tried and was very unhappy. Tried Murad but had an alergic reaction to those products. I tried the PTR starter kit and was extremely happy! By far these products work better than anything I have tired before...and these products are for agin skin as well as acne. I alternate the Acid wash face cleanser in the AM with the PTR Buffing Beads in the PM and I'm very happy. The cleanser will last a very long time. A little goes a very long way.

It will work wonders - just stick with it - your going to have a purging period bc this is strong - stick it out - I am almost 30 and before I started using these products (2 years now) I had acne worse than when I was a teenager. My skin is very sensitive as well so it's hard to find a product that is strong but does not cause me to have red\burning. This was a great find for me.

how many times should you use this product per day for the best results? does it matter what exfoliator, mask, or moisturizer you use along with it because i dont want to be using too many products that would later cause more breakouts....(btw i use the DDF mask once a week, clinique's 7-day exfoliator every three days and an onsen moisturizer along with the clarisonic)

If your skin is not too dry, I would use it once a day (at night). When I started using it, my skin got flaky around my lips, so I had to start slow (once every two days), but it gets better! I take my makeup off before using it or do it in the shower.

You need to be careful when using too many different brands and medications. Sometimes it will make the skin worse. Here is my Peter Thomas Roth secret combination for success. In the evening, I wash my face with the Acne Wash, and the follow up with Peter Thomas Roth Conditioning Tonic. In the morning, I ONLY use Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads and do not use the Acne Wash/Conditioning Tonic combination again until the evening. This is not too harsh of a combination, and allows your skin sometime to "rest" in between the washes. Your skin will be a little dry, but allow it time as it will get better once it gets used to it. This has worked wonders for me. Try this for a couple weeks and believe me, you will not be disappointed! Good luck!

No, it dried me out! I have extremely acne prone skin, and this made it worse and sucked all the moisture from my face. Try DermaDoctor's Ain't Misbehavin' for acne.

It won't dry you out and it actually leaves your skin feeling quite moisturized. It contains AHA/BHA which is great for acne. If you don't use a toner, try Bliss' Daily Detoxifying Facial Toner (which will add moisture to your face by allowing your moisturizer to penetrate deep into the skin) and minimize pore size. It's alcohol-free, unlike many others, so it won't dry your skin out, and has a light, but now overpowering fragrance. Those two products used together, along with a great moisturizer, have improved the look of my face.
