It does not leave a residue as long as you let it dry completely before putting your shirts on. You don't get the unsightly white streaks on dark clothing.

Question
Sugar or Lavanilla?
I want to switch to a natural deoderant and really getting sick of Secret Clinical Strength which just smells so chemically, I can't decide which one to get, Sugar or Lavanilla? Anyone compared both? I workout everyday and am somewhat stinky/sweaty, especially in the summer time. Help please!

I prefer Lavanila. Sugar left a nasty residue that I could not scrub off. Sugar seemed to hold out a little longer in the day but once it gave out I was stuck w/a stinky 'film' that I could not scrub off (and I do not particularly like having to scrub my poor pits). Lavinila doesn't last all day but I bought the tiny stick to keep in my purse for touch ups.

Sugar gives you more bang for your buck. I have tired other natural deodorants but this one beats them all in my opinion. I live in the South wear its hot & humid and this keeps me dry all day.

LaVanilla smells terrific (very vanilla) but has no anti-perspirant in it so you see all the sweat. Sugar has a lemony sugary scent and stops odor and wetness and leaves no white stains on your clothes.

I wear white all the time, especially in the summer. I have never had an issue with this. It is a light and clear gel-like formula. I would let it dry about 5 minutes before getting dressed if you are still concerned. I have been using this exclusively for years and never had an issue.

I've never had an underarm stain when using this product. I think some stains are due to an interaction between the chemicals in the fabric & the chemicals in the deodorant. I had a polyester-type sweater back in the 1970s that I had to throw out b/c the armpits started to smell even when I WASN'T perspiring! 100% cotton seems to be less prone to staining than synthetic blends.

Does this product leave white marks on black clothes?

answer 1
I wear a lot of black and I use this deodorant / antiperspirant. It does not leave white marks in my experience, but the trick is to let the deodorant dry completely after applying and not to slather it on. Because it contains aluminum chlorohydrate which is an aluminum salt and aluminum salts are the ingredients in antiperspirants responsible for white residue left behind on clothing, this product is most likely capable of leaving white marks. Although I have not had this problem when using this product, if you were to apply too much, it could transfer onto your clothes.

Additionally, white marks on clothing are very different from antiperspirant staining, which is a result of the relatively high acidity of most antiperspirants reacting with the body's sweat and discoloring the clothing fibers. This is more likely to happen if you experience heavy perspiration.

I have never noticed marks on black clothing, especially during the summer months. The deodorant goes on clear and stays clear. It is a liquid, not a gel so the consistency doesn't change when it dries.

For me, not so much. It smells great and the scent really lasts, but the wetness protection doesn't seem to last for me. I don't sweat more than normal, but I live in a very humid climate and I'm quite active. It does help if you wait for it to dry (which can take a minute and require holding your arms up) before getting dressed and heading out.

I think I have overactive sweat glands. Wish I could say I "glisten" when I work-out, but I truly sweat! But not my arm pits when I use Fresh Sugar Deodorant. It is great & worth every penny. I always preferred deodorants that dried the minute you put them on. With Fresh, you have to wait a bit for it to dry, but it is TOTALLY worth it !

I haven't been paying as much attention to this as I probably should have been (given the price) but I think a bottle typically lasts me at least three months, or more. (Longer than you'd think from looking at the size of the bottle, but that's probably because you don't need to apply a lot).

This product lasts me 4-6 months. Of course, I'm in my 60s, I don't perspire like I used to & I don't do a lot of vigorous exercise. If you're younger, exercise a lot, or still have all your hormones (lol), you might need to use more often.
