Very dense, firm. If using mineral powder as a base, this is your brush.

answer 3
I would say medium firmness & density. It's softer than the Sephora bronzer brush, which was larger and denser. (what I used before this one) The bristles are much higher quality and I find I don't waste as much powder, more gets onto my face as opposed to scattered all over my chest and makeup desk.

This brush is very dense, and tightly bound...I played with it for quite a while in store and it did not shed at all. It is extremely soft, and well made.

Yes, it comes with a hard plastic cover. Even though I started using it already, I like to keep the cover on to help keep its shape and also so it won't get dirty easily.

answer 5
Yes, it comes with a plastic like cover that has a cap on it as well so you can open the cover tube and slide the brush back down the proper way so as not to destroy the bristle and keep them compact. I also highly recommend this brush. Best face powder/ finishing powder brush I've ever owned.

I use this brush to apply my Sephora matte pressed powder foundation. I press it into my face instead of buffing it into my face. I like the light coverage in the summer.

I don't recommend to use this brush to apply bronzer, because this brush is huge, and it's not dense at all. I think this brush is perfect to apply pressed powder or any other face powder, because it's huge, you can use it if you don't have much time to do makeup. By the way, this brush is super soft. I love it so much.

Compared to #55?
How does this brush compare to the #55? Specifically in terms of applying powder foundation

I bought this brush to replace the #55. This provides much better coverage than the 55 as it is light powder brush. I am so satisfied with the coverage. Can be medium or full coverage depending on how much powder you pick up. I simply press this brush on my cheek and I am able to get great coverage, no swirl the powder on your face likely disturbing your primer or moisturizer underneath.

Which one is good for setting powder this one or 50 ?

I think that both would work. The #61 is way bigger and denser, you'd probably have to use it in more dabbing motions. The #50 is smaller (oval shaped), less dense, and quite a bit softer. If you're worried about smudging make-up under the finishing powder, and want something really soft go with the #50. If you want it to get done really quickly, I' d go with the #61 'cause it's so big (and still also soft)!
