It is not retractable, the only cap it comes with is the plastic packaging cap (which you can use as a cap).

answer 3
this brush has a lid but it is too long to put in a purse. Look for a retractable brush instead.

answer 4
It isn't retractable, but it does come with a brush cover. (The handle is a little long for a purse, unless you have a bigger purse.)

When i bought mine, it had a cap, which of course I threw away, but if you want to travel, just wrap in a piece of foil. a small piece folded (think highlights) should do it.

answer 3
This brush is really meant for your vanity, not day to day purse travel. I have no issues with the cap. If you are traveling I assume you are taking other brushes as well. The cap will stay in place just fine in a brush roll keeping any residual lip color from contaminating other brushes. For everyday purse carry get a retractable lip brush.

answer 4
Basically, it comes with a cap, but the cap is not made well. It snaps on, but you have to put it on a certain way so as not to fray the brush and ruin it. I'd say, tape the top in place so that it doesn't twist around.

answer 3
Most likely it's synthetic because using real hairs on lip products that usually have a waxy base wouldn't really work or deposit the right amount of pigments.
