If you look carefully there are two pieces that lift. Just lift them up to "unlock" and the case will open.

It is a bit tough. Very tough. You almost have to use a snapping motion. Or ask the staff in Sephora to open it for you prior to leaving.

How stiff is the brush?
I have an issue with brow brushes being to flimsy. Does this seem pretty stiff?

It is stiff and sturdy. This is a brush you will need to dab or pat into the shadow you are using. This is not a brush you will swipe, hope this helps.

It is very stiff, but not sore (if that makes sense). I use mine to line under my brows, then go in with another stiff but not as "sharp" to fill in the rest. It gives really clean lines.

This brush is the best that I have tried and you won't have a problem with the bristles being too soft. It is very firm and can contour the very best eye brow shape. It also has a very useful eye brow brush on the other end to help shape the brow, or if you put too much eye brow colour on you can use the brush to take the excess off.
