Questions & Answers for SEPHORA COLLECTION Pro Stippling Brush #44

Falling of bristles
After how many uses do the bristles stop falling out? I returned this brush after one use because of this but I have yet to find a brush that applies my foundation as well as this one did. I'm willing to try it again as long as it's not a continuous problem.

NO! I had to throw it away! It made me very angry every time I used it, bristles all over my face! I recommend Sigma, Morphe or Real Techniques over any sephora brush

NEVER. I bought mine June of 2013 and every time I have used it I have had issues. Sorry.

Thats the second time I read about bristles falling and its NEVER happened to me! It has to be defective or you are pushing really hard which is unnecessary! Its for light even application. dot the makeup on then blend with a light, circular motion. Good luck!

I've had it for about a year and the thing still sheds all over my face when applying my foundation. It's a never-ending thing. Kind of like a cat.

I sometimes get bristles falling out, but its never enough that it will ruin your brush. definitely repurchase. I use mine regardless and its amazing! a little shedding wont hurt!

I used and washed it three times and it shed just as much the third time as the first. Sigma makes an excellent foundation brush. No shedding and great smooth coverage. I think it's a Sigma E82(?)

the hairs cease falling out after a few times of use. i've been using this type of a brush for awhile, different brands as well, same thing happens with them. on my third use, i only get a couple of hairs on my face..sometimes a couple, sometimes nothing. for me, the brush is worth using regardless of this little con. it just works too well.

How to stop the brush bristles from shedding?
The first time I used this brush (without washing it first) it began to shed, so then I washed the brush, and then the bristles became all screwed up, they were sticking out and the brush keeps on shedding, anyone know what I should do?

Depending on how you clean your brush and with what you clean it with will affect the bristles. Make sure to always use warm water, I use Quo brush cleaner, but baby shampoo works as well (which is cheaper as they're larger amounts). I wash my brush by holding it against one hand, placing the cleaning solution on the bristles, wetting it a bit, then massaging it gently with my thumb. You'll know it's clean when the bristles become white again, or as close to depending on how long makeup has been on it.
Lastly, the drying process is important, make sure you don't TUG at the bristles at all, pat it dry once or twice between a towel and then lay it down on a face cloth/towel overnight or a few hours to air dry.

That's my process and any shedding is minimal to none. I've had my brush for over 1.5 years and use it everyday!

Good Luck!

I use a spray and then just wipe the brush back and forth on a soft cloth. Then I wash with shampoo and dry it closed then lay it flat. If it's shedding its either defective or time to get a new one!

The same thing happen to me with all of my Sephora brushes. the glue just must not be very strong. make sure that you dry your brushes upside down after washing them if you aren't already doing that. that should help a little bit. :)

Have you tried using the brush cleaner in a spray bottle? I didn't wash this brush by hand and water with soap because I didn't wanna pull out the hairs by accident. I use the spray to clean my brushes. It could help with the reshaping of the brush because you clean it by wiping on a clean towel and let it air dry by putting it up not laying it down. When you clean it brush it with a little pressure on the clean towel to kinda reshape it back. Hope this helps.

I have had this problem happen too. What I recommend doing to your brushes is once you wash your brushes, immediately hang your brushes upside-down with clothespins and use a brush guard. If you don't have brush guards, just use tape and wrap it around with the adhesive showing towards you and let it dry. This worked for mine, so I hope it works for yours!! <3

Where is this brush manufactured? Are all of the Sephora Collection products manufactured in the same place?

It depends because different ingrediants might come from different places. For example i have two foundations from the Sephora line one is made in Italy and one is made in France. There really is no way to know.
