How is the coral obtained? Is it the actual live coral? Is this product cruelty-free?

Let me put this as simply as I can: The pretty, colorful parts of coral only thrive underwater. Those are actually polyps that come out of their porous skeletons. Once out of water, they die, and the skeleton remains. These dead coral skeletons are commonly dyed bright colors and used as ugly decorations. So, there is no way you can harvest the color of natural, live coral.

While the shadow would be described as shimmer, it is very subtle and never looks glittery. Plus, the pigment is really good, so having to use only a small amount keeps the "sparkly" factor to a minimum.

I believe it depends on the palette you choose. I have both sunray and sunset and all have metallic/shimmery qualities to them, but very pretty.

I have similar coloring and I love both sunray and sunset. There are also so,e purple palettes that always look good with green eyes, but where not what I was looking for at the time. I'll most likely investigate those further this fall.
